Sonic the Hedgehog fans have less than three weeks left to take home their very own piece of the franchise as part of the ongoing 35th anniversary celebration.
Retro merchandise company iam8bit has unveiled a slate of original Sonic the Hedgehog artwork and prints now available through the company’s official online storefront. Each work was featured at the 35 Years of Speed: The Sonic Art Exhibit, which recently completed its tour of the United States. While prints of the various artworks begin at just $15, original works start at $40 before quickly climbing to the four-figure mark.
The Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary Art Collection Is Available for a Limited Time
An official announcement statement from the company reads, “iam8bit is excited to announce that original artwork and prints from the 35 Years of Speed: The Sonic Art Exhibit are available to order today on iam8bit.com through October 20. For fans of Sonic around the world who were unable to attend the art exhibits, this is their chance to collect a piece of the magic and bring it home.”
The statement continues, “Featuring a range of lovable characters, scenarios and reimagined depictions from across the history of SEGA’s Sonic The Hedgehog, there’s truly something for every fan found throughout this art collection. The Timed Editions of each print will be available to order until October 20. Once that date passes, they will be gone forever, so fans interested in owning a piece of Sonic the Hedgehog history will want to move fast.”

The unveiling of these prints and original artworks is just one of a myriad of ways that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has been celebrated during its 35th anniversary. Over the past few months, multiple new lines of merchandise ranging from Halloween-themed apparel to immaculately-detailed Sonic the Hedgehog statues and collectibles have made their way onto the market, much to the delight of fans and collectors alike.
While the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series has captivated fans of all ages for nearly four decades, the wider franchise has helped to usher in a new era of video game adaptations on the silver screen. Since the release of 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog from Paramount Pictures and Sega, a further four feature films, three shorts, and even a live-action Knuckles spinoff series have been produced, with the success of each title driving Sega to explore further adaptations of other fan-favorite properties.
In September, SEGA President Shuji Utsumi discussed the company’s recently minted deal with Netflix to produce further adaptations, including a new Sonic the Hedgehog animated series. “We’ve watched Netflix take on stories across every kind of format and treat each one with real craft,” Utsumi stated, “And seeing that same dedication applied to Sonic, Crazy Taxi, and Stranger Than Heaven is something we at SEGA are incredibly proud to be a part of. The fandoms of these games deserve storytelling that honors what makes each title special, and we know Netflix shares that commitment. This is just the start of what these titles can become.”
