General Hospital just dropped exciting news that indicates we have a new romance coming to Port Charles soon. Tanisha Harper recently confirmed that the soap is officially testing a romantic pairing between Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Jordan Ashford.
Today we are going to talk about Michael and Jordan’s growing connection and the possibility of them having a real love connection.
General Hospital Star Spills Juicy Info
All right. So, actress Tanisha Harper, who plays Jordan Ashford on General Hospital, did an interview recently, and she confirmed that the powers that be at the soap are indeed testing the waters for a romantic pairing with Michael and Jordan. I mean, we keep seeing them thrown together into scenes. And at the time, it made sense because Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was Michael’s partner.
They work closely together at Aurora. And with Curtis packed off to Pentonville, Jordan is running Aurora Media in his place as sitting CEO. And Tanisha said at first she did not know for certain what the powers that be were planning for Michael and Jordan. But Tanisha said she kind of had a feeling they were going there. She said she could see what was happening with Jordan and Michael. And now they’re just kind of testing things out.
Jordan & Michael Romance Being Tested on GH
Tanisha said it makes sense to explore the possibility of an unexpected chemistry between Jordan and Michael. And Tanisha said she thinks it’s good television. I agree. And she said watching that bond form between Jordan and Michael was kind of out of the blue. She said at first the writers were just kind of sprinkling it in. Tanisha said she and Rory Gibson, who plays Michael, was starting to do some scenes together, more scenes here and there, more frequently. And from there, Tanisha said she thinks the writers and showrunner Frank Valentini liked it. And so, we’re seeing things progress between Jordan and Michael.
Now, so far they are strictly friends and Jordan is still very much committed to imprisoned and now injured Curtis. But Michael and Jordan have been spending a lot more time together lately. The two characters never really crossed paths much on General Hospital. But with Curtis being in Pentonville now, Jordan is working alongside Michael at Aurora Media every single day.
General Hospital: Jordan & Michael Growing Closer
So, Jordan’s with Michael all day long. They’re spending a lot of time together professionally. Curtis is totally out of the picture. And also, Jordan has been confiding in Michael lately because he understands what Jordan is going through with her facial scarring. Michael knows how much Jordan’s been struggling since she almost died in that terrible, terrible car accident. And Jordan has opened up to Michael a few times and he’s been very sympathetic.
Now, to be fair, Jordan caused her own injuries while Michael was one hundred percent a victim of his. Plus, now Jordan’s estranged sister, Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard), is in Port Charles, and she’s already trying to make things difficult for Jordan. Right off the bat, Monet was bringing out Jordan’s insecurities about the scarring on her face. And then when Michael’s brother, if you remember, Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) was alive, he and Michael had some very rocky points in their sibling relationship.
So, sibling conflict is one more thing Michael can relate to with Jordan. Plus, Michael just arranged for Jordan to have facial reconstruction surgery at the same German clinic in Baden that he went to after he was severely burned and nearly died when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s penthouse was firebombed by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Michael Comes Through for Jordan on GH
So, the doctors in Germany worked wonders on Michael’s face. He has absolutely no scarring. So, he’s helping Jordan to get the same surgery that he had. And Michael just told Jordan this week that he knows it’s bad timing because of all the stuff going on with Curtis in this attack. Michael obviously feels bad about Curtis being in the hospital after being beaten in Pentonville since it looks like his dad’s Sonny was responsible even though, as we all know, it was a setup. But Michael found out there’s an opening at the clinic in Germany and that means Jordan can get her scars removed as early as next week.
So, that is great news. And Michael has really come through for Jordan. And Monet just reinforced all of Jordan’s insecurities about the scars. So, Jordan struggling with that on top of the Curtis attack. And then here’s Michael getting Jordan this miracle surgery to restore her looks. Obviously, she’s going to be really grateful to Michael. Plus, Jordan may be looking for some validation that she looks beautiful again. And with Curtis behind bars, he cannot really do that.
General Hospital: Tanisha Harper Thrilled
Also, during the interview, Tanisha Harper said, “Michael and Jordan are bonding over their trauma, which is very similar, especially because they are both worried about Curtis being locked up.” So on his way to prison, you remember he set it up for Jordan to work with Michael very closely and I suspect in the long run Curtis may come to regret doing that because of the closeness that is developing between Jordan and Michael on General Hospital.
Tanisha Harper said Michael understands what Jordan’s going through on a deep level which means they formed a really strong connection and she said fans are seeing it too. The actress also thinks that the Michael and Jordan storylines are heading towards a forbidden attraction and that Jordan may find Michael hard to resist. Also, Tanisha said she and Rory Gibson were already friends before they started working in scenes together. So, she’s having a blast working with Rory.
And Tanisha said that Rory is a brilliant actor and she’s excited to see where things go between Jordan and Michael. But she also thinks some fans are going to wind up mad. Obviously, if Jordan and Michael do start to develop a genuine attraction and possibly real feelings, it will get really messy. Right now, while Michael is single as a pringle, we obviously know Jordan is in a very committed relationship with Curtis. She promised she would wait while he was in prison.
Curtis Destined for Betrayal on GH
Plus, Michael and Curtis are also really close friends and business associates. So, if Jordan and Michael move past friendship and they cross lines, Curtis is going to be furious and devastated and it’s going to be even worse because Michael is a good friend. Plus, if Jordan and Curtis split and if Jordan gets involved with Michael, that will prove Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) right. Because not that long ago, Portia told Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) that Curtis and Jordan would not last.
Portia said Curtis and Jordan fell apart before and she said Curtis and Jordan will fall apart again and it looks like that’s the direction we’re headed in. I can not wait to see how it all plays out. I’m kind of excited to see what exactly is coming next for Michael and Jordan. And what could also complicate this is Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) because she is now conspiring with Curtis to take down Sonny because of the alleged assault.
Willow wants Sonny out of the way because he helps Michael and Curtis wants payback on Sonny for the attack. So, if Willow gets any inkling that Michael and Jordan are a thing, I suspect that Willow would run it back to Curtis and blow everything up and then Michael may be targeted by Curtis, which would be great for Willow. Sounds like it all gets really messy really soon.
