When Gretchen Rossi last appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County during season 19, she took a lot of heat for allegedly liking homophobic and transphobic posts on Instagram.
Gretchen, 47, initially claimed the screenshots were fake and said that if she had liked them, it was an accident while “mindlessly scrolling” and not realizing what the posts were about.
“Oh, gosh, I would never do that,” she said on the show when confronted about them. “I mean, if I like something, I probably didn’t know it was about that. I don’t have any issue with the LGBTQ community.”
Later, she said that “unfortunately sometimes” she “probably” is “scrolling and liking things, and so I don’t know if I’m paying enough attention.”
At the reunion, she claimed she had hired a private investigator and showed what she said was a “cyber analysis report” that allegedly showed the screenshots were doctored or that the likes came from external IP addresses rather than her own device.
Gretchen also accused Tamra Judge of being involved and orchestrating the story to ruin her return to the franchise.
Tamra, 59, completely denied Gretchen’s accusations, calling Gretchen a “liar” and a “homophobic b*tch.”
She also questioned why she was “getting blamed” for Gretchen “liking homophobic stuff” and noted Gretchen had unfollowed over 200 Instagram accounts after the accusations that she had liked the posts were made.
Additionally, Tamra shared screenshots showing Gretchen was allegedly still liking similar posts a few days before the reunion taping.
In January, it was revealed she would not be returning for RHOC season 20.
However, an insider has exclusively spilled to Reality Blurb that Gretchen did indeed return for season 20.
“At the reunion, the cast found out that Gretchen returned to the show for a scene,” a source shared.
“She ended up filming a pick-up scene with Jennifer Pedranti,” they continued. “It supposedly took place at Jenn’s yoga studio and it is expected to air in the season 20 finale episode.”
What’s more, the insider shared that Gretchen’s long-time partner, Slade Smiley, also showed up and filmed with her.
“Given what happened last season, this obviously was shocking,” they added. “A lot of the cast was shocked and at least one of them, unsurprisingly, lost her s*it about Gretchen’s return.”
The insider also noted they believe some fans may “riot” given the allegations Gretchen faced last season.
