What happens in The Chosen Season 6 trailer?
The trailer focuses on Jesus’ final day, building toward the crucifixion as tensions rise among his followers, religious leaders, and Roman authorities. The season explores the different perspectives surrounding Jesus’ death. The Pharisees view their actions as justice, the Romans associate them with peace, and his followers see them as murder.
Despite the growing danger and loneliness, Jesus remains committed to his mission. The footage highlights the emotional weight of his final hours and the events that will ultimately change the world. Season 6 sets the stage for the crucifixion before the series moves toward its final chapter, which focuses on the resurrection.
Jonathan Roumie reprises his role as Jesus, with Shahar Isaac as Peter, Paras Patel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdalene, and Noah James as Andrew. The returning cast also features George H. Xanthis as John, Vanessa Benavente as Mother Mary, Luke Dimyan as Judas, and Richard Fancy as Caiaphas. Paul Ben-Victor and Andrew James Allen return as King Herod and Pontius Pilate, respectively.
The Chosen portrays Jesus’ life and teachings through the eyes of those who knew him, set against first-century Israel under Roman rule. The series divides its final events between the crucifixion and resurrection. This approach allows the series to explore the consequences of Jesus’ death before completing his story in the film.
The first five seasons are currently streaming on Prime Video.
