Meredith Marks appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she addressed the diss track she and Lisa Barlow sang on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
While confirming who the song was targeted at, reacting to Bronwyn Newport‘s emotional response, and discussing Whitney Rose‘s split from Justin Rose, 58, Meredith, 54, clapped back at Charlie Zakkour, 30, after he shaded her husband, Seth Marks, 54, called out her co-stars’ hypocrisy, defended her wig, and explained why she was at odds with Whitney, 40.
“Bronwyn made it about her, but it wasn’t about her. It was actually about the whole group dynamic,” Meredith revealed of “Hypocrisy and Bullsh*t” on the October 14 episode of WWHL. “If it was about Bronwyn, we would’ve said, ‘This is about you, Bronwyn,’ but we didn’t. It’s about the dynamics in the group as a whole.”
After being asked if she and Lisa would record an official version of the song, Meredith said she’d actually written two songs.
“The diss track I referenced in that conversation was actually not ‘Hypocrisy and Bullsh*t.’ It was another diss track that I had worked on about a year ago that I tabled, but I think it’s coming back now. I decided I think it’s time. But ‘Hypocrisy and Bullsh*t,’ Lisa and I, so I have the real diss track that I worked on that’s coming, and Lisa and I also have something that we’re doing that’s a tribute to ‘Hypocrisy and Bullsh*t,’” she clarified.
Looking back at Bronwyn’s emotional reaction to the diss track, Meredith admitted to feeling “bad that her feelings were hurt.”
“I didn’t feel that I did anything that should have been so offensive to her. I felt it was a bit of fake fragility, but of course I never want to see someone’s feelings hurt. I felt terrible,” she insisted.
As for her and Lisa’s encore performance, Meredith revealed that it actually took place in a separate room.
“She asked us to leave, and her party was in that back room, so when we went and did the encore, it was actually in the public space. We respected her wishes,” she explained.
Regarding Whitney and Justin’s split, Meredith said she hoped they both would find happiness.
“Obviously we heard she had filed, and so it sounds like that’s the path they’re going down, but whatever brings them peace, I wish that upon them,” she stated.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Meredith was asked about Charlie’s claim that Seth was the “least respectable dad on the planet” and should be embarrassed to be a househusband.
“I don’t agree with that. I’m married to him. Charlie can say whatever. He says a lot of things that aren’t nice. That’s far from the only one,” she noted.
Back on the live broadcast, Meredith was asked to reveal why her castmates needed to be called out for their “hypocrisy and bullsh*t.”
“I just said everything with [Britani Bateman],” she began. “I mean, why is she talking to me? She said she would never film with me again.”
As for Angie Katsanevas, 52, Meredith said she was “a little hypocritical to criticize [her] hair.”
“You would think that if she is a beauty expert in the hair industry, she would know that it is in fact real hair and not synthetic,” she added.
She then said that “basically everything that comes out of [Whitney’s] mouth” was hypocritical before recalling Bronwyn’s season six claim of having caught Seth on a date.
“To be that upset about a random song about a group dynamic when she had no problem saying my husband was on a date last year and I have a text message from Todd confirming there were four men at that dinner and she refuses to acknowledge it? A bit hypocritical,” she declared.
Of the ongoing speculation about why she was wearing a wig post-facelift, Meredith said she loves it because it is “beautiful” and “natural.”
“They can criticize all they want, but it is beautiful. It’s natural … and I probably spent more on my wig than they spend on a year of glam for their hair.”
Also on the show, Meredith revealed the root of her drama with Whitney.
“She has my forgiveness [but] it’s not about that. It’s that she continues to do the same thing and apologizes and then just does it again and again and again. And, quite frankly, to give a real apology, you actually have to acknowledge that you did something wrong. And she did not really. She said she was sorry that she said she hated me, but there was a lot more said than that. She made up all kinds of lawsuits and other allegations, and it was the third or fourth time she had done it. So it was a choice, and it’s how she feels. And I’m at peace with that.”
“It’s okay that she says she hates me,” Meredith added. “That’s okay. She’s allowed. It’s fine. I’m actually happy about it because I’d rather you be honest with me than gaslight me and tell me you’re doing these things cuz you’re my friend.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season seven airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
