The twisted creative minds behind The Black Phone and Sinister are diving back into the world of pure audio terror.
Director Scott Derrickson has reunited with collaborator Ethan Hawke for Midnight Radio, a terrifying multi-episode scripted fiction podcast exploring a dark conspiracy, a secret space mission, and a horrifying late-night broadcast.
The project is a nine-episode scripted podcast, and the trailer marks its first audio preview. The star-studded ensemble also features Noah Centineo, Willa Fitzgerald, Levon Hawke, Austin Pendleton, Hubert Point-Du Jour, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

What happens in the Midnight Radio trailer?
In the audio trailer for the scripted horror podcast Midnight Radio, Hawke stars as The Radio Man, aka the host of a cult-favorite, conspiracy-themed late-night AM radio show.
The trailer starts off with a voice saying, “The static was… growling. Screeching. Like a high-pitched… whine. [What have you heard in the static between the stations in the dial?] We heard something really weird. It wasn’t human or animal, even. Several shadows appeared in the fog. [And then?] And then all hell broke loose.”
Hawke’s voice then continues, “Let’s pull back the veil between our world and the next. In my experience, the one thing that sets us free from our is facing it. Let’s face it together.”
Another voice added from another excerpt, “Those were not people; they didn’t have skin. [How much of the story is true?] All the important parts.”
Following this, numerous other snippets were added from other audio recordings that described their terrifying experiences, with Hawke cross-questioning them to know about the stories in detail.
For those unversed, the official description of the podcast reads, “As the broadcast unfolds, strange signals hidden in the radio static reveal themselves. With each episode building on the last, one question grows more urgent — who, or what, is really on the other end of the line? And what do they want?”
The terrifying nine-part supernatural thriller premieres its first episode on October 22, 2026, via the iHeartRadio app and all major podcast platforms, with subsequent chapters dropping weekly on Thursdays at midnight PT / 3 a.m. ET.
