Anna Faris has read about Chuck Lorre‘s comments on her.
In the TV producer’s new memoir, Sitcom, out this week, he admits he had doubts about hiring Anna Faris as the star of his show Mom.
When she left after seven seasons, he says he felt vindicated — that her “mysterious reasons” for leaving “were not mysterious to anyone on the show.”

On Thursday afternoon, the Scary Movie actress took to Instagram to share her reaction. She starts off admitting she feels his comments are hurtful:
“Yikes. Yes, I read a few things. I really didn’t see that coming. Of course it hurts.”
But then she turns to gratitude and points out how hard she worked for seven years:
“Chuck gave me a job I loved, and for seven years I never took a day of it for granted. I’m proud of what we made together, and nothing changes how grateful I am for those people and those years.”
Getting candid about sobriety, she finishes the statement by saying:
“I’ve been sober for a year and a half. I was on a show about recovery and then I lived it. Now I’m healthy, I’m working, and I’m happier than I’ve been in a long time. If anyone reading this is where I was, I hope that’s useful. It gets better. I’m proof.”
Honestly? A pretty great response if you ask us!

The internet is largely on Anna’s side, too, with people pointing out seven years is a long time. Maybe it’d be one thing if she had to leave after a year or two, but seven years is longer than most series these days. Maybe not as long as the ones Chuck is used to making (Two And A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, etc.), but it’s still a long time!
Actor George Paez left a comment writing:
“Not sure if you’ll ever see this but just know that the amount of times we worked, you were always professional and affable to be around. I remember chuck got mad at something we worked on and I felt it was towards me and you saw me behind the crowd bleachers pensive. You came up to me and told me it wasn’t about me, and that chuck has final say and don’t feel it was directed towards me. The director of that episode told me to do it one way. And obviously Chuck didn’t agree with that. You gave me back the confidence I lacked at that moment. So I have always appreciated that from you and was always in AWE watching you nail every scene, every change we worked on together.”
And other replies were supportive too, including:
“I freaking loved Mom. My brother has been an alcoholic nearly my entire life and it has been exhausting and destructive. I watched that show and felt ALL the emotions from ALL the perspectives. You did the part justice along Allison Janney and all the other lovely ladies. What a shame that Chuck decided to speak out his a**. But don’t you let that discourage you. You played that role for a reason PERIOD.”
“I just watched Mom because of you! And you were great on it! We all know how good you are “
“He should be singing your praises! If it wasn’t for you being in it I would’ve never even known it existed! You don’t get the credit you deserve for a lot of stuff! Everything you’re in wouldn’t be anywhere near as big as it has been if you weren’t in them!”
