Tate McRae is adding another memorable look to her fashion repertoire. The singer recently stepped out in Los Angeles for the launch of her debut fragrance, TATE 01, at Ulta Beauty. Her vintage-inspired outfit looked classic at first glance, but one daring detail made it stand out.

Tate McRae wore the 1995 Gianni Versace Couture Corset Hardware skirt suit, sourced from Raffe Vintage. The design featured a structured, single-breasted black jacket with padded shoulders, a sharp notched collar, and a plunging neckline. Oversized metallic buttons ran down the front, while rows of silver-tone studs along the sides of the torso created a corset-inspired effect, accentuating the fitted waist.
Flap pockets at the waist complemented the jacket’s structured tailoring and fitted silhouette. Its padded shoulders and cinched waist balanced the plunging neckline, creating a sharp, defined shape. A glimpse of black lace lingerie beneath the neckline added a playful twist to the otherwise tailored look.
The delicate lace stood out against the solid black fabric, while the metallic hardware complemented the design. Rather than relying on sheer material to showcase lingerie, McRae used the jacket’s deep cut to reveal just enough lace to make a statement.
McRae has also experimented with visible lingerie in previous looks. During her October 1 outing in Paris, she paired a sheer black Valentino top with a Fleur du Mal Bianca lace bra featuring floral detailing and scalloped trim. Black leather trousers, Giuseppe Zanotti slingback heels, and a Valentino shoulder bag completed the outfit.
She took the trend further in July at Justin Bieber’s FIFA after-party in New York City, wearing a sheer Saint Laurent silk-jersey micro minidress. The $2,200 design featured a plunging neckline, lace trim, and spaghetti straps, revealing her black bra and thong underneath. Chanel slingback sandals and a Valentino shoulder bag finished the look.
Unlike her previous sheer looks, McRae’s vintage Versace suit reveals only a hint of lace, letting the plunging neckline do the talking. The look offers a fresh take on her lingerie-inspired style.
