Hey, The Bold and the Beautiful fans. Right now, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) feels like Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pulled the rug out from under him. Finn is angry, and he feels betrayed, and this may turn up frustrations that Steffy won’t give Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) a chance to be part of their lives, even though she knows that Finn really wants that.
Today, we’re going to talk about Steffy’s surrogacy betrayal giving Finn the upper hand and the moral high ground. So, he might demand that she back off about forbidding a relationship with Sheila.
The Bold and the Beautiful: The Tables Turn on Steffy
So, we know that it’s usually Steffy who is upset with Finn, and he’s begging forgiveness, even for things that are not his fault, like Sheila getting on a plane to follow him to Monaco. I mean, heck, Steffy blames Finn for the very fact that Sheila is his biological mom, like he somehow chose this.
And when Steffy’s upset, Finn always scrambles to make things right for her, and he talks about how loyal and devoted and perfect Steffy is. But really, she’s done Finn wrong many times since they’ve been together. She’s cheated. There’s been a lot. And now he’s absolutely furious about Steffy’s surrogacy.
In Finn’s mind, Steffy waited for him to leave town and went behind his back and did the insemination with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), knowing that Finn didn’t want her to do it. He is upset with Steffy. He’s very hurt, and he feels disrespected, and his mom, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), is on fire about all of this.
So Finn may feel like Steffy did this to lash back at him over the Sheila thing. First, Steffy threw her rings at him, and now she’s having another man’s baby. So imagine how upset Finn’s going to be when he finds out Steffy and Carter made that baby the good old-fashioned way, not with a procedure.
Steffy Scrambles to Save Her Marriage on B&B
And now Steffy is the one scrambling to make things right and save her marriage. And soon, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say she tries to get romantic with Finn, because she’s trying to repair her fractured marriage. But Finn might demand something else from her, something Steffy won’t like: access to Sheila.
I am really enjoying seeing Finn having grown a backbone and standing up to Steffy for a change, because he’s always had her on a pedestal that she didn’t quite deserve. This time, though, Steffy is so much in the wrong, and Finn’s thinking about how they’re going to have to explain to Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay) and Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Bryan David Garlick) that Steffy’s pregnant. But the baby is not going to be in their family, because it’s Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire)’s.
And of course, he doesn’t know the real reason Steffy and Carter did this. And things are going to get much worse when that comes out. But this week, Li confirmed Steffy’s pregnant after Finn demanded a blood test. So, he’s going to be upset. He’s already venting to his adoptive mom, Li.
Bold and Beautiful: Sheila Gets in the Mix
And I expect that Sheila gets in the mix somehow. You know, she’s going to find out what Steffy did and how hurt Finn is. Since Li and Sheila are friends, Li might mention to Sheila that Steffy went behind Finn’s back and made a baby with another man. Li is angry at Steffy because of what she’s done, so she may vent to Sheila about it.
And I’m sure Sheila will have a strong reaction to what Steffy did to Finn. Even though Sheila is banned from a relationship with Finn, that’s still her son. So Sheila is going to be real upset with Steffy, just like Li. And I don’t think that Sheila would go confront Steffy, because that would upset Finn, especially with Steffy pregnant. But Sheila might run into Finn at the hospital when she’s visiting Li, and he might confide in Sheila.
And we know that Finn really believes Sheila has changed, and he wants her around. But of course, Steffy flipped out when he mentioned it, and that’s what started this whole Monaco mess. She claims she is terrified of Sheila. But then Steffy always rushes to get in Sheila’s face to confront her. That’s not what scared looks like to me. It just looks like hatred.
And of course, Steffy has good reason to hate her. But we saw Finn trying to get Steffy to just consider giving Sheila a chance, and she wouldn’t hear it. Steffy refused to even try, although she knew it was very important to Finn, but he let Steffy roll over him. And at this point, I think Finn’s done rolling over about things, including Sheila.
The Price of Finn’s Forgiveness on B&B
So, if Finn runs into Sheila and they talk, I’m sure she’ll be very sympathetic, and Finn may realize again he wants Sheila in his life. So, I could see Finn telling Steffy, “You want my forgiveness for all the damage you’ve done? Fine. Here’s how it happens.” And Finn may tell Steffy the cost of his forgiveness and understanding, you know, since she’s letting other people use her body for the next seven to eight months. And he may say, “This is the price. Sheila gets a chance.”
Steffy forced Finn to promise he would never have anything to do with Sheila. But then Steffy betrayed him. So, we could see Finn pushing back hard on Steffy about Sheila, because Steffy raged at him and accused Finn of going behind her back and allowing Sheila to follow him to Monte Carlo. Steffy assumed the worst. Then she got drunk, and she banged Carter. And of course, Finn doesn’t know the extent of all this yet, but Steffy definitely does.
Steffy May Have to Give In on B&B
So, if Finn offers an olive branch, no matter how much Steffy may hate it, if she wants her marriage to recover, she may have to open the door and allow Sheila into their lives. So, it may start with Finn running into Sheila and hating the idea of keeping it secret, and maybe he decides, “No, I’m done.”
Finn may not even ask permission, and he may flat out tell Steffy, “You made this decision for our family to be a surrogate, so I’m making this decision for our family to let Sheila in. Period.” And Finn, you know, might offer a compromise: “Okay, Sheila can’t be around Hayes yet. We’re going to ease into it.” But if Finn wants Sheila closer, Steffy may have no choice but to suck it up because of the stunt that she recently pulled.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Tanner Novlan Teases Sinn’s Future
In a recent interview, actor Tanner Novlan, who plays Finn, said he’s not giving up on Finn and Steffy’s future. Not yet. But he said Sinn fans are going to be fired up by this plot. He said Finn’s going to do everything he can to keep the family together. But I also think his days of being a pushover and caving to Steffy are over. I think we’re going to see a lot more of Finn pushing back, because he’s angry, and he’s not even hiding it from Steffy.
Bold and Beautiful: Could Steffy Offer the Compromise?
And it’d be really wild, honestly, if it’s actually Finn’s wife who offers this compromise. I think it would go a long way if Steffy went to Finn and said, “I’m sorry. I know I did something that you don’t agree with, and I want to make amends.” And then Steffy could say, “All right, I know you want this. Let’s give Sheila a try.”
I will say I don’t think Steffy would do that. I’m saying it would be an amazing gesture if she did. But in terms of her relationship with Finn, I think it would go a long way to show that Steffy is making an effort to give Finn something that he wants. Because Steffy went behind his back and did something she knew that Finn didn’t want.
Steffy backing down about Sheila, I think, could help heal the rift that she just tore in their marriage, at least for now. But once the whole truth comes out and Finn finds out that Steffy cheated with Carter, all bets are off. Finn’s going to go nuclear. But he might have both his moms there to comfort him, Li and Sheila.
