On 90 Day Fiance, Niles Valentine arrives in Ghana with gifts but they aren’t enough to secure his marriage to Matilda Nti. Andi Jane’s suspicions grow when Nigel seems a little too into his part-time lover. Vittorio Palchetti shows a different side to Jessy Peralta over tennis with friends. And Jonathan Pearce and Alimna (Ally) question staying together. Let’s break it all down in this recap of season 8 episode 4 Schnapps On The Rocks.
90 Day Fiance: Niles Fears for His Marriage
On 90 Day Fiance, Niles Valentine is thrilled to be reunited with wife Matilda Nti. But he’s already falling short when it comes to the promises he’s made. And he’s also harboring a life-changing secret. Upon arrival, Niles and Matilda head straight to the home of Mr. Arc. There Niles Valentine is reminded he was supposed to bring some things for Mr. Arc and his wife. Namely some bottles of Schnapps, flavor unspecified but my guess is peach.
Niles Valentine shrinks when asked if he’s got the fruity liqueur . He sheepishly admits he doesn’t but can bring it the next day. He asks permission to spend the evening with his wife at her new apartment. Mr. Arc gives his blessing. But he’s got questions. Mainly why did Niles promise Matilda would be in the states after five months and now it’s been 2 years. Miles admits he overstepped his abilities on that one.
Mr. Arc reminds him that his marriage could be annulled on 90 Day Fiance. It’s as easy as Matilda’s mom returning a bottle of Schnapps to null and void 2 years of marriage. Niles and Matilda head to the apartment. And spend a good night together in spite of not really finishing it. The next day they head to her family’s house where Mr. Arc will speak for Niles Valentine. And broker the important stuff like trading Schnapps for futures.
The Other Way: Andi Jane Grows Suspicious
Andi Jane can’t shake the feeling that Nigel’s part-time lover is actually a full time threat on 90 Day Fiance. Andi wants to discuss it as Nigel prepares a welcome party for her. And he’s inviting Azrael, or as Andi refers to her “camping girl”. When producers question Nigel as to whether he could have a romantic relationship with his lover he replies with a definitive eff off. Nigel indulges Andi’s interrogation but does come off a tad defensive.
Nigel stresses that he does enjoy the company of Azrael. And that it’s perfectly in line with the rules or lack of Andi agreed to. Its party time and Andi Jane is manic trying to figure out if each and every female guest is Azrael. After several sighs of relief, she overhears Azrael’s name. Andi admits she’s different. More Coachella than hillbilly cabaret. It’s tense but gets worse when Nigel and Azrael head to the kitchen to make drinks. And Andi quickly follows.
90 Day Fiance: Vittorio Shows a New Side
Jessy Peralta is blindsided by her home in the Tuscan countryside. Free roaming chickens and horses don’t suit her city girl esthetic. But she loves Vittorio Palchetti so she vows to give it a shot. Vittorio wants her to play tennis at the club with his friends. It’s an important part of his life and social status. Jessy even agrees to ride on the back of his motorcycle when she’d rather enjoy the comfort of an Uber.
Once at the courts, Vittorio Palchetti criticizes her outfit on 90 Day Fiance. She’s wearing red. But he would prefer white. They play doubles with his buddies and he demeans her the whole time. Jessy Peralta is fed up and suggests drinks. Vittorio loses his mind when she orders a cappuccino at 8 pm. She asks the friends what he was like before meeting her. And they suggest he was a playboy. Jessy teases and he starts relentlessly mocking her.
Jessy storms off to find a restroom. Vittorio follows her continuing his tirade and calling her childish. Jessy insists he stop and seeks a ride with production rather than going on the bike. He gets angry and the tirade continues with him yelling profanities at Jessy as he rides off. She’s stunned at the way he acts and admits she hasn’t seen that side of him before.
TLC Couple Jonathan and Ally Decide to Sleep on It
Jonathan Pearce is frustrated to the point of tears on 90 Day Fiance. He’s fed up that Alimna (Ally) confides her disappointment in him to her best friend Megan. He feels ganged up on and doubts staying. On the ride home he cries to Ally. He’s given up a lot including his business, his children and his father. And feels she doesn’t appreciate any of it and only wants to criticize him. Ally rolls her eyes and explains she’s been doing everything on her own.
She defends her friend Megan for at least being there. Jonathan scoffs that she’s only gone to a few appointments with Ally. Yet calls herself the father on social media posts. Ally suggests these are just jokes. Bur he continues to express his doubts. Ally questions what they are even doing together. And he isn’t sure. Back at Ally’s place the weary couple take a breather. And she suggests they sleep on it and talk again in the morning.
90 Day Fiance: Michelle Spills Concerns About Felix
Michelle and Felix are new to The Other Way. She’s a strong woman on her own since the age of seventeen. She raised her daughter as a single mom and established a successful and unusual career path. She flips cars with her business partner and bff Henry. After securing a car at an auction, she relays concerns about her relationship to Henry. Michelle met Felix at an airport in Ghana on a layover. He was a bartender who served up drinks and flirting.
Michelle was smitten and ended up extending her stay in Ghana. Then couple fell in love enjoying the sunshine and healthy living in Ghana. Michelle rented an apartment with a two year lease and Felix moved in. But Felix’s father has become a problem. While Michelle was visiting recently her and Felix fought. In the middle of the night she woke up to what seemed like a robbery. Turns out it was Felix and his father cleaning out her things and calling it a prank.
Michelle’s friend Henry suggests she needs to wake up and take this seriously on 90 Day Fiance. Michelle confides further that Felix’s father who’s a preacher is creepily intrusive. Wanting to know her every move including when she showers. Later, Felix and his father talk. His dad says Michelle needs to redeem herself to him by presenting him a sheep and of course some Schnapps. Till next time!
