Heather Dubrow feels ghosted by Carmella Garcia after seemingly establishing a friendship with the Real Housewives of Orange County newbie amid filming on season 20.
While also sharing which cast member she speaks to the most and admitting to being out of touch with Emily Simpson, 50, Heather opened up about her apparent falling out with Carmella, 44, as Carmella revealed the kind thing Heather did for one of her kids off-screen.
“I really only hear from [Tamra Judge] and [Gina Kirschenheiter] … I haven’t heard from [Carmella]. I saw her at the premiere party. We haven’t spoken since,” Heather, 57, shared on the October 29 episode of the RHOC: After Show.
After admitting to being “overly sensitive,” Heather said she “really did feel like [she and] Carmella were forming a deeper friendship.”
“I was really excited about it,” she stated. “After Japan, [I] hadn’t heard from her. I don’t know if the onus was on me to reach out to her, but we had texted, I think, the day before. So, I was a little surprised, and maybe that’s, like, I don’t know, selfish of me to think she would’ve texted me.”
After skipping the cast trip to Tokyo due to diabetes struggles, the often San Diego-based Carmella admitted to feeling embarrassed amongst the women and added that Heather, who resides in Los Angeles, was “so far” from her.
“I know that everybody’s so busy. I thought we were great. I thought things were fine,” Carmella continued.
She then revealed that Heather sent her kids treats for Easter.
“She did, which was really, really kind,” Carmella shared. “Like, my son has a severe egg allergy, and he’s never had a donut in his life, and she has a friend that owns an allergy-friendly bakery, and she literally Ubered baked goods down to my son, which really meant a lot to me. And she had said, ‘This is nothing that’s show related.’ I feel like it was a very generous, kind thing, and it meant a lot to me.”
Looking back on their season 20 dynamic, Heather said she felt like she “made an effort” with Carmella.
“I feel like I have made an effort to continue our friendship, but I feel a little ghosted by her, and then when I hear [Tamra’s] talking to her, and she went out to lunch with these two or went out to dinner with those two, I’m like, ‘Alright.’ But you know what? I’m at the point where I’m like, ‘If you want to be friends, I like you. Let’s hang out, but I don’t want to be the one that’s always having to reach out and make the plans,’” she reasoned.
Also on the After Show, after Heather revealed that she’s closest to “Tamra,” and admitted that she and Emily “haven’t spoken,” Tamra said she was closest to Heather.
“We talk the most. I do talk to Carmella. She reaches out once in a while,” Tamra revealed.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 reunion begins next Thursday, November 5, at 8/7c on Bravo.
