The biggest, THE BLUEST!
Social media is ABLAZE over Democrats beating the brakes off Republicans in the 2026 Midterm elections, with Keisha Lance Bottoms making history in Georgia as the first Black woman to be elected Governor in U.S. history.
With the world-moving support of Black women–the real MVPs–at the polls, Bottoms also became the first Democratic Governor-elect in the Peach State since 1998.
“No matter who you voted for tonight, I will be a governor for all of Georgia,” said Bottoms during her victory party in Atlanta. “Georgia, we sent a message loud and clear that we want a leader who will put Georgia first and who will stand up to all the chaos coming out of Washington, DC.”
Naturally, Bottoms brought out ALL of Atlanta to her star-studded victory party with special appearances by Tyrese, Killer Mike, Yung Joc, Shamea Morton, Shereé Whitfield, and more.
Making easy work of Republican challenger Rep. Mike Collins, Senator (and potential Presidential frontrunner) Jon Ossoff joined Bottoms in Georgia’s big blue winners circle where he delivered a scathing rebuke of Trump’s “depravity, corruption and incompetence” during his bustling victory speech.
“If at times [over] these last two years, amidst the ceaseless onslaught of brutality and indecency, you doubted whether our republic would survive, let tonight’s results give you courage that the first light of dawn is on the horizon,” he said to roars of applause.
And it should come as no surprise that his impactful social media strategy was handled by brilliant Black women.
It was a monumental night of firsts, much-needed joy and the funniest tweets/memes that we’ve seen in a hot minute on Twitter X.
