This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) collapses. When she goes down, the entire surrogacy scheme may be exposed. In leaked scenes, we know that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) pressure her, and we are going to see Steffy pass out. Based on the spoilers and timing of this leaked Bold and the Beautiful scene, it looks like Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is also on hand when she goes down.
This week, we already saw Finn (Tanner Novlan) talking about how he is going to be there to support Steffy throughout this pregnancy. He understands it is an important thing she is doing for Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire). I will say the writers made a bad choice in this conversation when they had Finn use the word ultrasound for the fetal heartbeat scan. Ultrasound typically means images, and this was just about the whooshing heartbeat.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) already talked about Steffy’s prenatal care and the tests and scans that need to be done. Finn expects to be part of this pregnancy process. Plus, Daphne Rose Walton said she cannot wait for the upcoming doctor visits so that she can also be involved in Steffy’s surrogacy pregnancy. But things are already suspicious. By the end of this week on Bold and the Beautiful, it looks like Ridge, Taylor and Finn may be on high alert.
Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Steffy Forrester’s Heartbeat Timeline Doesn’t Add Up
Li mentioned how strong the heartbeat was, and Finn just brought that up again and repeated it. A device like the one Li used on Steffy is not that sensitive. A handheld Doppler like Li had only detects a heartbeat around the end of the first trimester, typically around 10 to 12 weeks. If Steffy was pregnant from Carter’s sperm through a surrogacy procedure, they should not be able to hear that heartbeat yet. She would only be a few weeks along.
Even if Steffy’s doctor had done an internal ultrasound, where they put the wand in your hoo-ha, you can usually see the little flickering heartbeat around 5 to 6 weeks of pregnancy. She still shouldn’t be at that point. So Li finding that heartbeat was really odd. I wonder if Finn’s mom already suspects that something is off.
We know Steffy got pregnant by Carter from that drunken sofa sex in mid-August. So Steffy is about 10 weeks along. That makes the heartbeat totally plausible for the one night stand pregnancy, but not for the surrogacy implantation procedure.
B&B Spoilers: Ridge and Taylor Erupt Over Steffy’s Surrogacy
This week, we also have Ridge and Taylor completely outraged and horrified to hear that their daughter is a surrogate and an egg donor. Yet Steffy never mentioned it to them. Ridge and Taylor had a very negative reaction on Wednesday, and that continues for the whole rest of this week.
So, Ridge is going to call Carter and demand that he come over to Steffy’s right now. Ridge and Carter were just playing tennis, and Ridge specifically asked about the surrogacy. Of course, Carter lied right to his face. We all know Ridge has a terrible temper, and his main exercise is jumping to conclusions.
There was another leaked official Bold and the Beautiful scene, by the way. This one had Ridge raging at Carter about how he and Steffy did the deed on the couch in his office. Ridge seems ready to strangle him. Maybe this scene happens, but I don’t think so. I feel pretty strongly this is Carter’s waking nightmare.
He looks scared when Ridge calls him over to the house, so Carter may fear the worst. This may be the scene he flashes to in his mind before he goes over to Finn and Steffy’s house to face Ridge and face the music. I would be stunned if this Ridge and Carter scene is the real deal, but we’ll see.
Steffy’s Panic Attack and Finn’s Lunch Run Set Up the Collapse
Now let’s talk about Steffy’s collapse, what caused it and what it means. On Wednesday’s episode, Finn was off at Il Giardino picking up lunch. Steffy started to have a panic attack, and she nearly passed out with a dizzy spell. Then she called Carter and said she cannot lie to her parents. Of course, he pushed back.
On Thursday’s episode, we pick back up with Taylor and Ridge freaking out. Then Ridge calls Carter to come over. To his credit, Finn is being very supportive, but also very naive. That may change soon, when he finds out what Steffy and Carter really did behind his back.
Spoilers Reveal Steffy Collapses on Friday
By the end of this week, Steffy collapses. That is 100% confirmed in Bold and the Beautiful spoilers, and it’s likely on Friday’s episode. Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that Carter and Steffy are under pressure. I’m actually expecting a Friday cliffhanger where Steffy gets dizzy and then passes out cold, and everybody flips out.
When that happens, I’m sure Finn is going to want to call 911. Or Finn says they need to rush Steffy over to the hospital. I’m expecting that she and Carter will avoid that at all costs. If Steffy comes to right away, like she’s only conked out for a couple of seconds, she and Carter may say, oh, it’s no big deal. Get her some fresh air, get her a cold glass of water, she’ll be fine.
Why Carter and Steffy Will Resist the Hospital
But remember, Li Finnegan mentioned surrogacy pregnancies are higher risk. Obviously, Finn knows that. I’m sure Taylor knows that as a doctor. So Steffy’s mom and Finn are probably going to pressure Steffy to go to the ER. They may not take no for an answer.
I’m sure Ridge will join in and insist that Steffy needs to go to the hospital, especially if she’s unconscious for more than a split second. Everybody will be worried. Carter and Steffy fighting against going to the ER will seem suspicious to Ridge, Taylor and Finn.
Knowing how important this surrogacy is to Carter and Daphne, it will make zero sense to them for Carter not to advocate for Steffy to go to the hospital and get checked out after fainting. The problem is that Carter and Steffy know what will happen if she goes to the ER, especially if Li Finnegan is on duty.
Ultrasound Danger Could Expose the Secret on Bold and the Beautiful
The first thing they would do is an ultrasound on Steffy to make sure the baby is OK. That’s standard. How can she or Carter refuse basic medical care? Plus, Taylor or Ridge might tell Carter to text Daphne and let her know. So Carter’s wife could wind up at the hospital also. It could all be exposed, I think next week, but we’ll see. Steffy may try to say she’s too scared to have the scan and wants to wait. If so, that’s really suspicious. If she is at the hospital, I’m guessing Taylor and Ridge go along for the ride, because they’re still really worried and now scared for their daughter Steffy.
I don’t see how Carter and Steffy can avoid a hospital trip over the fainting. Even if they can, I expect Finn to say, fine, no ER today, but we’re going to go see your OBGYN tomorrow. If Steffy insists she won’t go to the emergency room, she’s not going to be able to avoid prenatal scans, especially not after she collapses.
Taylor Presses Steffy for the Truth
I’m hoping we’re going to see Taylor getting alone time with Steffy and demanding to know why she’s refusing medical attention. Nothing about this is going to make sense to Taylor. She may press Steffy, and then Steffy may confess to Taylor about her one night stand and the unplanned pregnancy.
If Steffy goes to the hospital, I doubt she can keep Finn out of the exam room. Even if they keep Li off the case and somehow keep Finn out, so Steffy is examined alone with the ER doctor, those scans will still be in Steffy’s records. Finn, Li or Taylor could see them.
Since it is November sweeps, I expect Steffy and Carter’s dirty surrogacy secret to be exposed. It all starts with Steffy’s collapse this week, and I know fans are ready for it to come out.
