Lindsay Hubbard hinted at her future on Summer House and In the City. She also accused West Wilson of trying to “drive” all the fans to his podcast, and she recalled her past side conversations with West and Jesse Solomon.
Amid his controversial relationship with Amanda Batula, West exited the Summer House cast. But on his Show Me Something podcast, he seemingly revealed more about the romance than what he shared on the actual show. He also expressed his hope that the NBA finals would overshadow Summer House’s bonus episode.
In an interview for Gabbing with Gib, recorded on June 9, Lindsay was asked about her future on Summer House and its new spinoff, In the City.
“It’s a lot [doing two shows],” said Lindsay. “Let me just say it this way. The plan was for last year to be the transitional year. And the new plan is for this year to be the transitional year.”
Though she didn’t clarify, Lindsay seemingly implied that she’ll be on another season of Summer House, perhaps for the last time, but she’ll continue on In the City.
At one point, Lindsay shaded West’s recent podcast claims.
“I guess that he’s on his podcast, really chatting up a storm because he has no other jobs,” she stated, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “So now he’s trying to drive all the viewers to his podcast. And it’s just like, we know what you’re doing.”
Host Gibson Johns shared his theory that West changed his “sports podcast” into a “Summer House podcast.”
“Right,” Lindsay agreed. “He wasn’t talking about Summer House ever before until switch[ing] directions, because now he wants the viewers and the listeners and stuff. It’s, I said it before, I’ll say it again. We can see right through you.”
Lindsay said she initially thought she was handing the Summer House reins to West, Ciara Miller and Jesse.
“I used to have so many side conversations with West and Jesse, specifically of being like, okay, here’s the baton, I’m passing you the baton, you now need to perform,” she recalled. “Gone are the days where your biggest storyline is that you couldn’t wash out your recycling before recycling it. Gone are the days, now you have to have opinions, and you need to stand by them, and you need to do stuff.”
“You can’t just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride anymore. You’ve been here for three years, now it’s time,” she added. “I didn’t have to have that conversation with Ciara because I think that she every year was so vulnerable and open and honest this year, and I’m so proud of her for doing that. I think she’s on a great path.”
