What’s your favorite Harry Potter book out of the bunch? Or how about your favorite movie out of all the big-screen adaptations?
When it comes to “most inspiring” of the bunch, Shaboozey — who rose to fame with his Grammy-nominated “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” — has to go with the one that started them all.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which actually helped fuel Shaboozey’s musical career back in the day.
At least, that’s what the red-hot country singer, 31, just revealed in a podcast interview with Bobby Bones on his Netflix podcast show.
“I watched that movie and read that book, and I was just like, ‘Man,'” Shaboozey said in the recent episode of The BobbyCast. “I just think there’s something fascinating about Harry’s life to a kid, probably like us, that’s just like — you feel really ordinary, you know? And you’re kind of not looked at as much…”
He continues, “And you kind of attach yourself to a story like that, where a kid like me — who really doesn’t feel like they have much going on or much of a talent or much of a story, or feels like they want to get out of the world they’re in — meets or watches something like [Harry Potter]. And you’re like, ‘Oh no, like, I do feel extraordinary.'”
With eight nods, Shaboozey finally won Grammy gold in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for his song “Amen” with Jelly Roll — who has certainly been in the news of late.
Sure, Jelly Roll’s own country music career has still been trucking along, with a new single out called “Hands Up” while also being featured on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.
