Sorry, horror fans! It looks like the genre is taking a major kick on Netflix come Sunday, July 19.
The Saw franchise — consisting of Jigsaw (2017), Raven Song (2023), Saw (2004), Saw II (2005) Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), Saw VI (2009), Saw: The Final Chapter (2010), and Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021) — will be leaving the streaming giant after just four months.
The Saw franchise became available to stream on Netflix on Thursday, March 19.
So, will the 10 terrifying flicks start streaming elsewhere? As of the date of publication, the entire Saw franchise isn’t streaming anywhere else. However, you can buy/rent the movies on various platforms, like Prime Video or Apple TV.
Created by Australian filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell, Saw debuted in 2004 and starred Cary Elwes and Leigh Whannell as two men trapped in one of Jigsaw Killer’s deadly games.

Since then, the franchise has amassed a huge fanbase, many of whom praise the films as some of the greatest that the genre has ever seen.
Taking to a Reddit forum in 2025, movie lovers debated over this question: “Do you agree that Saw is the greatest horror movie franchise of all time? Yes, no, or why?”
“Actually, yes. I could watch Saw 1-7 over and over again. It’s comfort viewing. Jigsaw was OK … Spiral wasn’t really Saw … Saw X was a very decent film, especially the start to when the games begin. But none of the last three additions are terrible. Overall, I feel Saw is the most consistent horror franchise in terms of quality and continuity,” one viewer argued.
“Probably not the greatest, but it is one of my favorites by far. Namely because of the twists, characters, music, actors, and look and feel,” added another, while a third person chimed in, “I don’t just because I feel like you can’t make a contest of art. Did it scare me the most? Yes. Do I love it the most? Also, yes.”
