The Midnight Sons have been rumored to come to the MCU for a few years now, and the Blade movie has seemingly integrated into a Midnight Sons feature. With the Midnight Sons back in Marvel Comics in Moon Knight comics, it is time to start looking at who might end up in the movie. There has already been one tease in the mid-credits scene from Eternals. In that movie, Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) was a normal human who was dating Sersi, and at the end he ended up finding the weapon that would define the character in the comics, the Ebony Blade. That is when a voice from offscreen spoke to him, and that voice was Blade (Mahershala Ali).
While the Black Knight is an outside chance to be part of the team, especially with a big name like Harington in the role, there are seven other Marvel antiheroes who would be a better fit for the Midnight Sons in the MCU.
7) Daimon Helstrom
Marvel has proven that nothing is off-limits when it comes to past actors in Marvel projects, even when those were not highly praised or accepted by fans and critics. Finn Jones returning as Iron Fist is a perfect example of that. This could mean an actor from a highly underappreciated Marvel series from Hulu could always pop up when Midnight Sons finally arrives in the MCU. Tom Austen played Daimon Helstrom in the supernatural Hulu series Helstrom.
The series was much better than its reputation might suggest, with Daimon as an exorcist of sorts, which is ironic since he is the Son of Satan. His sister Ana (Satana in the comics) was played by Sydney Lemmon. Helstrom was always a strong member of the Midnight Sons when called upon, and while the Hulu version of the character was nothing like the comic book version, Marvel was planning some big things at the time, including having him in a shared universe with the Ghost Rider. Helstrom needs to be in the Midnight Sons.
6) Elsa Bloodstone
Elsa Bloodstone is already in the MCU, and she needs to be part of the Midnight Sons when the movie debuts. Laura Donnelly starred as Elsa Bloodstone in the Disney+ special feature Werewolf by Night. She is a monster hunter, but she is also someone who will not hunt “good” monsters like Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing. She is also getting more and more popular in the comics, with her height of popularity possibly being when she was part of Deadpool’s time in Monster Kingdom, where she fought by his side.
In Werewolf by Night, she was able to stand up against monsters and fight them on even ground. In the comics, she is part of the Bloodstone family of monster hunters, but she dislikes her family’s tradition of hunting and killing all monsters. This helps her remain a moral conscience for the Midnight Sons, whom she has fought with more than once in the comics. Since she has already been introduced in the MCU, she would be an easy addition to the team when it arrives.
5) Werewolf by Night
As mentioned, Elsa Bloodstone debuted in the MCU in the Disney+ special feature Werewolf by Night, and if Elsa is in Midnight Sons, it makes sense that Werewolf by Night is also in the movie. Jack Russell is the Werewolf by Night, a monster who debuted in the 1970s Marvel Comics and who was involved in stories with everyone from Dracula and Blade to Moon Knight. In fact, Moon Knight debuted in the Werewolf by Night comic book series.
One thing that the Disney+ special feature showed was that Jack has no control over himself when he is in werewolf form, but he isn’t as frenzied or as cold-blooded a killer as other werewolves and monsters. Jack can control who he attacks in werewolf form with his sense of smell, which helps when he takes part in team-ups as he has in the Midnight Sons comics. If Jack is in the Midnight Sons when they appear in the MCU, it could also bring back fan-favorite Man-Thing as well.
4) Doctor Voodoo
Doctor Voodoo is the one character who should be part of the Midnight Sons who has never been in an MCU movie or TV series. In Marvel Comics, Doctor Voodoo is Dr. Jericho Drumm, a mystic who replaced Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Comics for a time in the 2000s and 2010s. He has a twin brother named Daniel who was the original Doctor Voodoo, but he died and is now a ghost that Jericho controls.
Doctor Voodoo has been part of several teams over his time in Marvel Comics, most recently working with Doctor Strange as the headmaster of Strange Academy, where he trained the young mystics of the future. However, he has also been part of the New Avengers, Savage Avengers, and Heroes for Hire. While he hasn’t been introduced into the MCU, the best landing spots for someone like Brother Voodoo are a new Doctor Strange movie or as a member of the Midnight Sons.
3) Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider
When Hulu said it was working on supernatural shows in the Marvel Universe, the plan was to follow up Helstrom with a Ghost Rider series. The best part was that the show was supposed to be with Robbie Reyes’ version of Ghost Rider, with Gabriel Luna returning to play the role. Luna played Robbie in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD during that show’s fourth season. Luna even seemed excited about returning as Ghost Rider, although Hulu lost the show when Disney+ began to focus on its streaming series.
Ghost Rider needs to be part of the Midnight Sons in the MCU, and Marvel even had Robbie as part of the new team when the series debuted in July 2026, which could hint at things to come for the group. Johnny Blaze is always going to remain a fan favorite for many Marvel fans, but the truth is that Robbie Reyes is a better character in almost every way than Johnny is today, and he is who needs to join the Midnight Sons as one of the key members.
2) Blade
Another member of the new Midnight Sons team in Marvel Comics is Blade, and he was the one person who was the easiest to convince to join. In fact, when he was told the Midnight Sons needed him, he said he was in, no matter what, because he would always come when that team needed him. Blade was also one of the most important members of the Midnight Suns video game, making him a member who is most recognized for the team.
Not only that, but with Mahershala Ali signed on to play Blade for a few years now, and as someone who has seemed to want to get something moving on the project, this could finally bring Blade into the MCU after teasing him in the Eternals mid-credit scene. Of all the Midnight Sons members, Blade is the most important to join the team, and it would finally allow the character to enter the MCU after much anticipation.
1) Moon Knight
One of the most surprising things about the new Midnight Sons team that Marvel just launched is that Moon Knight was the one who was recruited first, and then he was sent out to convince everyone else to join, even though he admitted that they all hated him. In fact, the Midnight Sons are appearing in Moon Knight comics, rather than in their own, and Clea Strange is the one who ordered the team together.
Of course, Moon Knight is already in the MCU, although he hasn’t crossed paths with anyone other than appearing in his own solo Disney+ streaming series. With Oscar Isaac in the role, Moon Knight could be an interesting character to put in charge of the team, and his character has a lot of ground to cover after a highly underrated and underappreciated streaming season. Bringing him back and putting him with Blade, Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider, and other antiheroes could make the Midnight Sons the most interesting team in MCU history.
