Stassi Schroeder ended the debut season of House of Stassi on bad terms with several of her castmates.
While appearing on Katie Maloney, 40, and Dayna Kathan‘s shared podcast on Wednesday, Stassi, 38, looked back on the season finale, mentioned “betrayal,” and vowed to go after certain co-stars on season two, as she also addressed marital tension with Beau Clark, 46, mom-shamers, and her strained relationship with mom Dayna Schroeder.
“That was devastating,” Stassi shared about the House of Stassi finale on the August 12 episode of Disrespectfully, via Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram.
According to Stassi, things went south between her, Katie, Taylor Strecker, 43, and Kristina Kelly, 38, after the girls brought up concerns about her marriage to Beau after drinking.
“Your intentions were pure, but your execution was sh*t,” Stassi told Katie, who insisted she was trying to be “tactful” and “loving” before things “went sideways.”
While Stassi’s friends were worried about the fate of her and Beau’s relationship, Stassi felt that by the time the finale came around, she and Beau were in a better place than they’d been amid his admissions about feeling like roommates.
“Beau and I had spent the whole season working on everything … having conversations, talking through everything, working through stuff, and I felt so much closer to him, and he felt so much closer to me,” she shared.
Looking back at the night of filming on the finale, Stassi said she was particularly set off by an exchange between Beau and Kristina.
“Beau just went for it. And that destroyed me. I felt like, just a huge sense of betrayal. Because I was like, ‘What have we been working on? How did we get here?’” she admitted. “That was really hard … I felt hopeless. I mean, I was like dry heaving.”
“I know that [they were concerned] … But [season two], I’m coming for every one of these girls,” she added.
As for Beau’s criticism of their relationship, Stassi acknowledged that it was “scary” for her to hear that he didn’t feel they were connected.
“It was scary for me to hear him say that. We have two f*cking small kids. A lot of the times, it’s gonna feel like we’re roommates. That’s just life. I don’t get to wake up and roll over and have morning sex. We have Messer in the bed with us … This is the phase that we’re in. So sometimes it’s gonna feel like we’re roommates and that has to be okay,” she reasoned. “We’re still like, ‘Yeah, we’re in this together, even though this isn’t sexy, cool, and fun all the time.’”
Moving on to the criticism she’s gotten as a mom, Stassi admitted it was her “biggest insecurity.”
“I try so hard, and I care about that, which is why you see me implode and explode at the end, because that was the thing that got triggered. It’s the thing I think most about every day,” she explained. “It’s my biggest insecurity, so to see people say that when you didn’t even see me parenting … How do you know if I’m a good or bad mother?”
“I’m with my kids every single night. I never miss bath time … [My whole life] is wrapped around my kids, yet I just did this show, and people are saying I’m an absent mom, and it’s f*cking with my head,” she continued.
Regarding Dayna, Stassi said the two of them hadn’t spoken since the show, during which she criticized her mother’s condescending and inappropriate behavior.
“I didn’t want her to do it. I made that very clear with my family, with the producers. I was like, ‘I don’t want her to film because it’s not gonna go well for her,’” Stassi noted, sharing that she and her mom “didn’t speak for a really long time” after Dayna appeared alongside her on Vanderpump Rules. As fans will recall, Dayna garnered attention for her odd behavior and comments to Beau about Stassi at that time.
“I knew it was gonna be the same situation because that’s how it is when we get together. Nothing has changed,” she added.
House of Stassi season one is currently streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
