Say what you will about House of the Dragon Season 3, but its viewership numbers do not lie, with this season of the Game of Thrones spin-off averaging 34 million viewers per episode and ranking among HBO Max’s three most-watched returning seasons ever. Despite the extremely divisive changes, seeing Tom Glynn-Carney’s portrayal of Aegon II’s reunion with Sunfyre was a franchise high point, and love it or hate it, there’s a good chance you’ll be back for Season 4.
Unfortunately, audiences will have to strap in for a long wait for the final season, and while it’s currently in development, we won’t be seeing anything until 2028 at the earliest. However, House of the Dragon‘s 2026 run isn’t quite finished yet, as the series is officially returning for one last hurrah thanks to a limited-time release, available until October 1 (via GoTD).
