Four days ago, a leaker going by the name of Cyberleek began sharing what looks to be legitimate leaked gameplay footage from GTA 6. It has truly become a historic saga, with new leaks hitting the internet almost daily throughout the course of the week. Naturally, Rockstar Games has begun legal efforts to track down the source of the leaks and, presumably, get them to stop. Yet so far, it seems that the hacker remains at large. This morning, Cyberleek posted yet another GTA 6 gameplay video from what they allege is a complete build of the game. That brings us up to a total of 7 waves of GTA 6 leaks, just under a week away from Rockstar’s planned big Netflix reveal.
When the leaks first started dropping, Rockstar followed them up with DMCA takedown notices at a pretty rapid clip. Since then, the developer has also filed multiple subpoenas in an effort to track down the source of the leaks. Microsoft, as well as several Discord servers, are being audited for any insight into who Cyberleek truly is and how they got ahold of what increasingly looks like a full, playable build of GTA 6. Thus far, though, it seems that Cyberleek is still at large. Another wave of footage went up on the leaker’s website on August 22nd, according to Insider Gaming.
The GTA 6 Leak Plot Thickens, But Reportedly Won’t Impact Rockstar’s Plans

The latest GTA 6 leak is currently circulating on Reddit and other social media sites. It’s likely that this video, like the others, will eventually be removed due to copyright infringement. The new clip shows more of the Hypercar gameplay, general driving around town, and a quick teaser look at the strip club in GTA 6. For the most part, the footage has fans even more excited to play the highly anticipated game. However, it’s also revealed far more about the game than Rockstar likely had in mind, and the company is still actively working to stop the leaks.
Notably, the video is also watermarked with Cyberleek’s logo and a QR code encouraging players to buy a particular meme coin. This has become a source of contention for gamers. The leaker’s stated motives, as revealed in their manifesto, are to target game developers guilty of anti-consumer practices. But with the meme coin of it all, it’s also clear that whoever Cyberleek is, they’re profiting from leaking this footage. This led Stop Killing Games to make a statement encouraging gamers not to support the leaker.

Regardless of the true reasons behind it, it seems that the GTA 6 leaks will likely continue until and unless Rockstar is able to track down who’s behind them. Rockstar has yet to issue any major, official statements about the leaks, though it’s clear they’re working behind the scenes to catch the culprit. However, reliable insiders, including Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, have remarked that Rockstar doesn’t plan to adjust its marketing or release plans in response to the leaks. The Netflix extended look video is still set to air on August 27th as planned. Similarly, GTA 6 is still scheduled to release on November 19th for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
