Wednesday star Fred Armisen gives fans a major update on Season 3. He even confirms exactly who he will be spending most of his screen time alongside.
During a recent appearance on the We’re Here to Help Podcast, Armisen confirmed Season 3 hasn’t wrapped filming yet, and they’re still working on it, six months after starting production in February. The actor opened up about the ongoing production of Wednesday Season 3, noting that “Most of my scenes are with [Jenna Ortega].”
This comes as tacit confirmation that Armisen’s Fester Addams will likely be joining Ortega’s Wednesday in her journey to Paris, and may have a bigger role to play going forward than in previous seasons.
Wednesday Season 3 Will Be as Far from Nevermore as It Can Get
Rather than being set within the bounds of Nevermore Academy, Wednesday Season 3 will see the titular Wednesday Addams make the trek to Europe, where she will likely be searching for Emma Myers’ Enid, who disappeared at the end of Season 2 after risking becoming an alpha werewolf in order to save her friends.
Season 3 will also pick up with Billy Piper’s Isadora Capri and Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Galpin, who also disappeared into the shadows in the Season 2 finale. Doohan himself previously said of Season 3, “I think it’s kind of a continuation of where you see her going off looking for Enid (Emma Myers) at the end of season two. You get to see where [Isadora] Capri was taking Tyler at the end of Season 2, and that storyline for me has been amazing because I’m just such a big fan of Billie Piper and her work.”
What Fans Can Expect from Wednesday Season 3
With production taking Wednesday from Nevermore to Paris to Ireland, audiences have plenty of changes of scenery to look forward to when the series returns for Season 3. Audiences can also expect numerous new stars to make their Wednesday debuts in Season 3, including none other than Jenna Ortega’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star and Hollywood icon Winona Ryder.
It was confirmed in February that Ryder will be joining the cast of Wednesday Season 3 in the role of Tabitha, a character who is currently an enigma almost entirely. Wednesday Season 3 will also mark the series debuts of Chris Sarandon, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, Noah Tyler, and Eva Green, the latter of whom will be taking on the role of Morticia Addams’ long-lost sister, Ophelia.
While details regarding what the plot of Wednesday Season 3 will entail remain tightly under wraps, showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar have expressed a profound appreciation for the cast and crew, all while teasing some major revelations to come. In a statement, the duo wrote, “This season, we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”
Fans do know that Season 3 will feature a time skip that hops right over Wednesday Addams’ junior year at Nevermore Academy, which will mean a more mature and determined version of the character. Ortega herself previously stated, “Wednesday is very aware of who she is, the world that she lives in, and what she wants out of it. Anytime anyone is just undeniably themselves, it’s quite magnetic.”
Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 3 is expected to premiere in late 2027.
