Studio Ghibli’s Kiki’s Delivery Service Sandwich Maker Returns as Purrfect Kitchen Collectible After 3 Years

Three years ago, Studio Ghibli brought the magic of Kiki’s Delivery Service to the breakfast table with its first-ever Kiki-themed sandwich maker. Now, Ghibli fans have another chance to get their hands on this unique piece of kitchenware.

Per Ghibli’s official online storefront, Donguri Sora, the “Kiki’s Delivery Service Aluminum Hot Sandwich Pan” has made a comeback for 2026. Released three years ago, this tool is designed to prepare hot sandwiches or delicious golden pancakes in just a few minutes. While baking meal items to a delicious golden brown, the pan also brands each one with an image of Kiki’s business sign, which hangs in the window of Osono’s bakery in Kiki’s Delivery Service. Studio Ghibli Serves Up Witchy Kitchenware With a Camping and BBQ-Friendly Release

Crafted from lightweight aluminum, Kiki’s hot sandwich pan works over an open flame as well as on a gas stove. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as family cookouts and barbeques. Notably, the upper hinge, which contains the stencil of Kiki’s image, can be removed, allowing the bottom half to be used like a traditional frying pan. As shown above, you can then use the pan to prepare eggs. Including tax, the pan costs 5,170 yen (~US$33.52).

Kiki’s Delivery Service is not the only Ghibli feature to receive its own dedicated cookware. Several years ago, Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle inspired a mini-frying pan and spatula set. Like Kiki’s sandwich pan, Calcifer’s also features a raised decal of the character, allowing pancakes and other foods to be adorned with the fire demon’s visage. The aforementioned spatula is also modeled after Calcifer.

Kiki’s Delivery Service originated as a beloved series of children’s novels by Eiko Kadono. Hayao Miyazaki wrote and directed the anime film adaptation, which follows the storyline of the first book in the series. Set in a world where witches live alongside regular people, Kiki’s Delivery Service revolves around a 13-year-old witch who must spend one year away from home in order to complete her magical training. Accompanied by her cat, Jiji, she leaves on a moonlit night with only her radio, a little money and her mother’s broomstick.

Shortly after choosing the town of Koriko as her new home away from home, Kiki meets a kindly bakery owner named Osono, who gives her a room to stay. To earn her keep, Kiki opens shop as a one-girl delivery service. However, many of her jobs test her patience, resourcefulness and resolve. A coming-of-age story designed to resonate with modern-day working women, Kiki’s Delivery Service is one of several works that have cemented Miyazaki’s legacy as one of Japan’s greatest living animation directors.

Donguri Sora does not offer overseas shipping services. However, you can buy the shop’s products outside Japan through proxy delivery services such as Buyee and ZenMarket. Licensed Ghibli merchandise is also sold online through external international retailers such as Meccha Japan and Sugoi Mart.
