Jeff Ross is looking back on a special memory with three comedy legends who are no longer with us.
The 61-year-old comedian shared an old photo on Saturday, September 26, of himself having dinner with Bob Saget, Norm Macdonald, and Gilbert Gottfried, all three of whom died within an eight-month period between 2021 and 2022.
“I MISS THESE GUYS. They all passed away within 8 months of each other,” Ross captioned the throwback, adding that the photo is still hanging in their booth at Jones Hollywood.

But amid the touching reactions to seeing the four friends together again, fans and fellow comedians couldn’t help but notice something else about the old photo—Ross still had hair (and a lot of it).
“Your hair passed away within 8 months too,” comedian Ron Funches wrote in the comments of the Instagram post.
“The sad reality is that all these guys look better than Jeff Ross does today. ❤️,” Dane Cook responded.
“beautiful post Jeff, i hope you take solace in the fact that your hair is also looking down on you right now 🙏❤️,” Goose Wayne commented.
A fourth fan joked, “The guy on the right, was he the one married Selena Gomez?” comparing Ross’s hairstyle to Benny Blanco.
The exact date of the photo isn’t clear, though Gottfried previously shared some of its backstory. He explained that the group went to dinner after he appeared as a guest on Macdonald’s show and remembered that “the laughs just continued nonstop.”
Jeff Ross lost three close friends in eight months
Macdonald was the first of the group to die, passing away at 61 on September 14, 2021, following a private nine-year battle with cancer. Saget died unexpectedly at 65 on January 9, 2022, after suffering accidental head trauma. Gottfried followed on April 12, 2022, dying at 67 after battling a rare illness.
Their deaths hit Ross particularly hard. He has described the three comedians as close friends and has incorporated stories about them into his one-man show, Take a Banana for the Ride.
Ross pointed fans toward the Netflix version of the special in his latest post, writing in the caption, “If you wanna hear my tribute to these three legends then watch ‘take a banana for the ride’ now on Netflix 🍌”
