Sam Raimi’s Underrated Sci-Fi Dinosaur Movie Officially Set to Stream for Free

Originally released in movie theaters in 2023, the sci-fi action movie 65 underwhelmed in theaters after being met with negative reviews. The film, which was much better received by audiences, is getting a chance to find more viewers next month with its arrival on a free streaming platform.

Tubi revealed the full list of new additions for October 2026, and on the list is 65. It will become available to stream starting on Oct. 1. The feature made $60 million at the box office, but with a $45 million budget and added marketing costs, this performance was disappointing. It also had a 35% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, though the audience score was almost twice as high, sitting at 64%. Many of the audience reviews are touting the movie as much better than the critics wanted to give it credit for.

65 Is Considered by Many to Be Underrated

“What a solid movie,” as one person said. “Adam Driver does an awesome job giving life to his character and activating survival mode! The plot and background story are well developed. I would recommend!”

Another audience review reads, “This movie checked off all the boxes. Space travel, dinosaurs, suspense, emotional connection, and Adam Driver! It doesn’t waste any time grabbing your attention, and the compelling story line is a great ride all the way through.”

Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spider-Man) served as a producer on the film. It was directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (Haunt), who also co-wrote the script. In addition to Adam Driver (Star Wars sequel trilogy), the film stars Ariana Greenblatt (Ahsoka), Chloe Coleman (My Spy), and Nika King (Euphoria).

A Futuristic Astronaut Lands on a Prehistoric Earth in 65

In 65, Driver plays Mills, a pilot from another planet who embarks on a space mission in order to earn money for his sick daughter’s medical treatment. His spacecraft crash-lands on an unknown planet, which he discovers to be a version of Earth 65 million years ago, just before the asteroid impact that makes the dinosaurs extinct. He finds another survivor, Koa (Greenblatt), and the two travel across the prehistoric landscape hoping to reach an escape shuttle, while carnivorous dinosaurs are in pursuit.

“The main thing that got me really intrigued and excited was the fact that I could work with Adam Driver,” Greenblatt told CBR about working on the film. “I’ve always thought he’s a fantastic actor. So it was like a one-on-one with Adam Driver in New Orleans? Sounds great — sign me up! That was definitely what caught my eye at first. Then I realized that they’d be cutting my hair, and I wouldn’t be speaking in a normal language, and we’re running way from dinosaurs. I was like, that’s also really great, and I’m here for it.

65 will start streaming on Tubi on Oct. 1, 2026.
