Since Netflix’s extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6 debuted back in August, we’ve heard fairly little from Rockstar Games about 2026’s most anticipated video game. That all changed on Sept. 29, when Game Informer shared its 14-page deep dive into GTA 6. Highlights of the article included fresh details about the game’s dynamic weather system, the intricacy of its NPCs, and six unique areas of the world map.
While there is surely more information to come in weeks heading up to the Nov. 19 launch, there are plenty of big questions about GTA 6 that we still have no concrete answers for. Here are a few that stand out.

When will GTA 6 reviews come out?
Forgive the inside baseball here, but literally every games journalist on earth right now is wondering if and when Rockstar will share advanced review copies of GTA 6. Sometimes, for very long games, publishers will share copies a month or more in advance. Occasionally, publishers will send out code on Friday evening for a Monday morning embargo. There’s no one way of doing it. And Rockstar is an unusual company, and GTA 6 is an unusual game, so even those nebulous rules may not necessarily apply.
What’s more, Rockstar has been unusually secretive and selective in its marketing campaign, granting preview access to conventional gaming outlets (IGN, Game Informer) and more mainstream or niche outlets (The New York Times, Dazed) in equal measure. The studio also shared preview footage with a number of YouTube and Twitch content creators ahead of the Netflix showcase in August.
A number of possible scenarios could unfold here: Rockstar may offer numerous outlets review access weeks in advance, because it is so confident in the quality of the game. It may give only one or two outlets early copies of the game, in order to prevent potential leaks. (After all, the company may conclude there’s little benefit to reviews if the game is going to sell tens of millions of copies anyway.) At this point, it’s still anyone’s guess. But typically, game reviews come out somewhere between a week or a few days before a game’s release date, like on a Tuesday for a Friday launch. In any case, we’ll find out soon enough!

Will GTA 6 have multiple endings?
Both Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 featured multiple endings. While GTA 5‘s endings included variations on who lives and dies, Red Dead 2‘s were more nuanced depending on Arthur’s honor level. The Sept. 29 Game Informer preview noted that GTA 6 has been designed to “encourage multiple playthroughs,” but Rockstar devs declined to go into specifics. However, co-studio head Aaron Garbut told the outlet, “Normally you compromise scale for detail or detail for interaction, but with this project we went the other way — everything is dialed up — detail, scope, breadth, scale, interaction, and density. I don’t think we have ever created anything close to this before.”

Will there be hunting in GTA 6?
The Game Informer preview also included a bulleted list of some of the confirmed activities in the game, including kayaking, mini golf, scuba diving, and jet skiing. Hunting was conspicuously absent from that list, despite the preview including an image of Jason outfitted with what appears to be a hunting rifle while approaching a pair of grazing deer. The preview also mentioned that GTA 6 will include more than 170 unique species of animals, some of whom will have unique physical traits like matted fur or bioluminescent skin. While we’d be very surprised if hunting wasn’t included in GTA 6, it would be great if the wildlife aspect of the game included more options than simply killing all these majestic creatures.

What kind of customization can we expect with GTA 6?
We’ve seen glimpses of Jason’s house and Lucia’s apartment in official footage of GTA 6, and we learned from previews that players won’t be able to purchase additional houses. (According to Rockstar, it wouldn’t make sense for a couple on the run to be constantly expanding their real estate portfolio, which makes sense.) Still, there is a lot that could happen in terms of customization of both these spaces, especially Jason’s house, which appears to be in various stages of construction during the first two trailers.
We also know that you’ll be able to alter Jason and Lucia’s appearance through working out, sleeping, and diet choices. It’s not clear if you’ll be able to take this to extremes, or whether the changes will be relatively subtle, like with Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.

How much storage space will we need for GTA 6?
With Rockstar going digital-only for the release of GTA 6, it’s fair to assume that PlayStation and Xbox owners will need to clear a fair bit of storage space on their consoles’ hard drives ahead of the Nov. 19 launch. Several PS5 games clock in at more than 100GB of space, including Gran Turismo 7 at 197 GB, Mortal Kombat 1 at 177 GB, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth at 150 GB. Given the flashy visuals and expansive map we’re expecting to see in GTA 6, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the game approach — or even clear — the 200 GB mark.

When is the PC version of GTA 6 coming out?
At present, Rockstar Games has only announced that GTA 6 will launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X. A PC launch seems inevitable, but the developer’s past track record for ports suggests PC gamers are in for a significant wait. Red Dead 2 came to PC a little more than a year after it launched on PS4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, GTA 5 came to PC about 19 months after the console release. While it could be as soon as late 2027, we’d expect it’s more likely we’ll see GTA 6 on PC in early 2028.

What’s happening with Grand Theft Auto Online?
Back in June, when Rockstar revealed pricing and preorder details for the upcoming game, the company emphasized that the game is a “single-player experience.” Still, that hasn’t stopped people from speculating about whether Rockstar’s working on an all-new online game to launch sometime after GTA 6, or whether the existing GTA Online will expand to incorporate elements of the latest game, including locations and events inspired by the game. According to a Sept. 17 interview with Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said the online multiplayer componeny of GTA 6 will be released in 2027.
“We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators,” Clancy told Bloomberg. “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”
Rockstar has not confirmed or denied Clancy’s statement, and presumably won’t reveal anything about a new Grand Theft Auto Online until it’s good and ready. We know from financial leaks earlier this year that GTAO continues to be a massive money-maker for Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive, so we expect they’ll want to keep that cash-machine humming. Who is in the GTA 6 cast?
Even though we’ve seen nearly half an hour of official footage of Jason and Lucia’s adventures in vehicle theft and sharpshooting, we still don’t know the names of the actors playing either of them. Rockstar hasn’t released any information about the game’s main or supporting cast. But Stephen Root, a freshly anointed Emmy winner for Widow’s Bay, known for his previous roles in King of the Hill and Office Space, recently confirmed to the Associated Press that he’ll be playing Brian Heder in GTA 6, a gruff mentor figure who doles out assignments to Jason and Lucia.
In past GTA installments, Rockstar looked to well-known movie and TV actors to fill out the cast. 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City included a number of big names, including Ray Liotta, Tom Sizemore, Dennis Hopper, Danny Trejo, Debbie Harry, and Jenna Jameson. In 2004, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas starred Ice-T, Samuel L. Jackson, James Woods, Charlie Murphy, and David Cross, among many others. A longstanding (but unconfirmed) rumor claims that Liotta might have reprised his role as the Hawaiian shirt-loving protagonist Tommy Vercetti in San Andreas, but he asked for more money than Rockstar was willing to pay.
Given that the cast hasn’t leaked yet, it’s safe to assume that GTA 6 will keep with the tradition Rockstar established with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2: an ensemble of less widely known, yet very accomplished voice actors. (Trust me, if Tom Holland was playing Jason, we would have known five years ago.)

Can Jason and Lucia have sex?
While we saw clear evidence that Jason and Lucia were shacking up in the Netflix reveal — early on, Jason helps himself to a soda in an apartment with flamingo-print wallpaper and pink fairy lights that I suspect is Lucia’s house, not his — we did not find out whether you’ll get to go all “Hot Coffee” with our leading couple. While your in-game romance will require maintenance and good behavior on both sides, Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson said you can keep Jason and Lucia’s relationship strictly platonic.
“I have to say it feels great — if you are into it as a concept. Don’t bother with it if you aren’t. Up to you,” Nelson told IGN. “The narrative is structured in such a way that the circumstances they find themselves in require them to stay together for most of the story and work together. At the very least they will get through most things as partners in crime.”
While we still don’t know if GTA 6 will let you engage in conjugal bliss, we know from previous leaks that the game will contain strip clubs and a nudist colony, and all body types are represented in vivid detail. Yes, there is full frontal in GTA 6, though we may not have seen it on Netflix.

Can you keep a gator as a pet in GTA 6?
The frankly underwhelming cover art for GTA 6 prominently features a smiling, toothsome gator, who fans have affectionately dubbed “Auto.” Though the Netflix reveal featured a brief and enticing fan-boat sequence, there were appallingly few Gator Moments during the broadcast. We’ve seen gators in previous trailers, and we saw a cute pitbull in the latest footage. If I have to work out and maintain healthy sleep hygiene in this game, you must let me keep a dangerous, truck-sized reptile as a pet. People do this in Florida all the time!
