Hey, General Hospital fans, there’s a big shock this week when hunky Jude (Wil Traval) shows up at the Quartermaines’ and demands to see his daughter. We’ll talk about what is next with the bio dad of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton)’s adopted daughter, Phoebe Wilson (Lucia and Luna Creighton), now that he’s coming for her.
General Hospital: Jude Demands to See His Daughter
So, this week on General Hospital, newly divorced Brook Lynn answers the door, and Jude is there, saying he wants to see his kid, and Brook Lynn looks stunned. Another official General Hospital spoiler for this week says the family is rocked, likely because Jude claims Phoebe is his kid, and I’m guessing that he wants custody of Phoebe.
The Pivot from Hudson to Jude on GH
Now, originally it looked like General Hospital intended for Hudson Park (Troy Lennon Appel) to be Phoebe’s father, because that’s why Ethan Lovett (Christian Howard) told Hudson that Delilah Wilson (Lily Cardone) died during childbirth and the baby didn’t survive. And then Hudson showed up in Port Charles, and he met Brook Lynn, Chase, and baby Phoebe, and then Hudson started to put the pieces together. But then the writers clearly pivoted when they added Jude to the canvas long term.
Here’s why we know this. Wil Traval, who plays Jude, said in a recent interview that he was only hired for a little arc, and then, after he was there for a week, they decided to put him on contract as Jude. So, we suspect that’s when the writers did the pivot from Hudson being the dad to Jude. And Hudson is going to be a minion who reports to Jude, it looks like.
So, it looks like Hudson told Jude that he found his and Delilah’s baby. I think this is going to be how they retcon the mentions. So, it looks like Hudson is the reason Jude is in Port Charles right now. Clearly, General Hospital shifted things to create a really juicy storyline for this new Aussie character. And baby Phoebe’s a big part of it. And now Jude is the scary guy that Delilah had been involved with and was running from, not Hudson.
General Hospital: Is Jude Hudson’s Boss?
Let’s talk about what’s next. So, first off, I’m pretty certain Jude’s the person Hudson’s been answering to and keeping updated about Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). And Jude appears to be Hudson’s boss, which aligns with what our leaker said about Hudson not being the next big villain, but being connected to the next villain, which seems to be Jude. And not his boss as in at JJE, but his boss in a criminal enterprise.
GH Shocker: Could Jude Be a Jacks?
But I think it goes deeper than Jude being a random villain. I feel like Jude may be a member of the Jacks family, mostly because when he and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) were trying to decide on aliases for their one-nighter, she suggested generic names, John and Jane.
If you don’t recall, those are the names of Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Jerry Jacks’ (Sebastian Roché) parents. And Jude reacted badly to those names, particularly Jane. We saw Jude horrified when Britt suggested that. And it suggests that Lady Jane could be his mom or grandmom, if it turns out Jude is in the Jacks family tree.
I could see Jerry being Jude’s father. We talked about that recently, because Jerry was an uber villain. So, it would make perfect sense if Jude’s also a villain, because he’d be following in his dad Jerry’s evil footsteps.
General Hospital: The WSB and JJE’s Subsidiaries
And that ties into another thing. It could be that Jude is the guy the WSB is interested in related to JJE. Because remember, the WSB wants Joss as CEO of JJE, because the WSB suspects some of the company’s subsidiaries may be involved in criminal activities. Hudson’s been with JJE just a few months, and he might have actually joined the company to do Jude’s bidding and take advantage of being an inside man.
As of now, Agent William Baines (Alimi Ballard) is working the local WSB scene, but at the time Joss first got the mission, it was Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) who assigned Joss, but she told Jack and Baines both that her dad, Jax, doesn’t do things illegally.
However, Jude may be a shady criminal, and that could be why he’s got the gun in his nightstand. And especially if Jude’s related to Jerry, then there is a strong chance he’s the one involved with the JJE subsidiaries doing criminal activities. And Jax likely didn’t know any of this when he took off on his world sailing trip.
Jude’s Custody Fight for Phoebe on GH
Also, I expect Jude is going to fight for custody of Phoebe. And that means the first thing Jude has to do is get DNA established to prove Phoebe is his daughter. And honestly, Hudson could already be helping Jude with that. Since Hudson’s on the Quartermaine property often, working with Josslyn, and he’s interacted with Brook Lynn.
Hudson could have swiped one of Phoebe’s binkies or a bottle. That way, they could do a preliminary DNA test. And so, Jude may have already run the DNA and brings the results with him when he shows up to confront Brook Lynn this week at the Quartermaine mansion. Even if Jude hasn’t done a test yet, he could tell Brook Lynn that he’s very sure Phoebe is his kid.
And then Jude has to go to court and demand a DNA test. I’m sure Brook Lynn will be shocked and try to boot him out, because Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) told them the biological father signed over his rights. But Jude can fight to dissolve the adoption, because he didn’t consent.
General Hospital: The DNA Question
Remember, Ethan told Alexis that he was Phoebe’s father. And to prove it, Ethan stole DNA from the PCPD evidence room to fake a DNA test. Alexis really thinks Ethan is Phoebe’s bio dad. So, his DNA might have been in the PCPD evidence room. Okay. However, Jerry’s DNA probably is in the evidence room.
And fathers’ and sons’ DNA is hard to tell apart. So, Ethan might have stolen some of Jerry’s DNA. Bottom line, Jude didn’t agree to the adoption and seems to be the dad. So, he should be able to get custody if he can just prove he’s Phoebe’s biological father.
Jude and Britt’s Next Chapter on GH
Another thing we might see is that despite Jude and Britt agreeing that it was just one night, I think there’s more to come. I think Jude is going to be Britt’s next love interest. Jude told Britt he was just passing through, but we already saw him on the phone at the Metro Court saying he was extending his stay, and now he’s showing up at the Quartermaine mansion demanding to see Phoebe.
So yeah, I think Jude’s definitely staying in Port Charles, and since we know Wil Traval is on contract, obviously he is. That means Jude is going to fight for his daughter. Plus, Britt needs a new love interest ever since her split with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). And once she sees Jude is staying in town, I think Britt might not be able to resist him. Jude rocked Britt’s world four times in a row.
General Hospital: Did Jude Buy Wyndemere?
So, with Jude sticking around, he also needs a place to live. And that brings us to the last thing we could see happen. Jude may be the mysterious person who bought Wyndemere out from under Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). And if Jude bought Spoon Island, we know Britt loves the castle. She lived there for a while when she was engaged to Nikolas Cassadine (then Tyler Christopher).
And if Phoebe is Jude’s daughter, as I suspect, the good news is Britt loves kids. So, it’d be a huge bonus for her if Jude, as hot as he is and as good as he is in bed, comes with a baby in the deal. And since Delilah passed away, Britt could play mom to Phoebe if Jude was down for that. I do think he’s already interested in Britt.
And I don’t think Jude has any plans to stay away from her. So Britt might get herself a little insta-family. She told Jude she doesn’t want anything serious. But she and Jude really hit it off, and Britt might get sucked in deeper, because baby Phoebe is so adorable. After all, love finds you when you least expect it. So, we’ll see how it goes.
But Jude is going to be really shaking things up. And it looks like when November sweeps kicks off on Thursday of this week, that is when he shows up at the Quartermaine mansion and drops the bombshell on Brook Lynn. It’s going to start this huge new plot, and that’s the reason Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is preparing to do battle to help Brook Lynn keep the kid.
