It’s hard to believe it’s been 37 years since Dragon Ball first debuted. What began as Akira Toriyama’s iconic manga has grown into a global phenomenon spanning multiple anime series, blockbuster films, hit video games, collectible card games, mobile titles, novels, and an ever-expanding lineup of merchandise. Even after nearly four decades, the franchise continues to attract new generations of fans while longtime viewers eagerly follow every major announcement.
With more recent projects keeping the franchise hype alive, projects like Dragon Ball Daima, the ongoing Dragon Ball Super manga, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, and the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime all show just how much staying power Dragon Ball has this many years later. And believe it or not, Dragon Ball‘s Goku is officially about to get a brand-new form after all this time (via Gematsu).
Perhaps one of the most exciting and talked-about upcoming Dragon Ball projects is Xenoverse 3, which is slated for launch sometime in 2027. However, there’s more Xenoverse 2 content on the way with a brand-new DLC expected to release later this week on July 8. Included in this DLC is a confirmed new Goku form, as well as a new Chronoa form.
Though neither new form has been officially revealed just yet, they’re definitely on the way and will be available alongside several other new pieces of content in Xenoverse 2 – Future Saga‘s Chapter 4 release on July 8. Here’s a full list of known content on the way:
- 1 Extra Missions Arc
- 2 Parallel Quests
- 4 Additional Moves
- 6 Costumes / Accessories
- 4 Super Souls
- 1 New Stage
- 8 Loading Screen Illustrations
- High-Difficulty Challenge Quests
More content included in Chapter 4 will be revealed both today and tomorrow via Bandai Namco’s various social media accounts. Chapter 4 is the official final DLC for Xenoverse 2 before Xenoverse 3 releases next year, and it’s sure to keep players busy for the next year or so.
If you still haven’t had a chance to check out Xenoverse 2, the game remains one of the most expansive ways to experience the Dragon Ball universe. Players create their own custom Time Patroller, battle alongside iconic heroes and villains, and travel through key moments in the series to protect history from being altered. Regular updates and DLC have kept the game thriving for years, and it’s currently available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
