Perez Hilton hospitalized after alarming TikTok live
As per PEOPLE, Perez Hilton was hospitalized on August 4 after people noticed that he appeared to self-harm during a disturbing TikTok livestream. The video ended with graphic clips appearing to show the blogger soaked in blood. The video quickly went viral, and fans raised an alarm on the internet.
Concerned viewers immediately alerted officials from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office (MDCSO). The deputies quickly made their way to the 48-year-old’s Florida home and revealed to the outlet that he was alone inside the home at the time of the video.
The spokesperson for MDCSO explained that in such alarming conditions, authorities often try to de-escalate the situation. They do so by “creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication.”
The attempt is to slow down the situation and make use of “crisis intervention techniques.” This minimizes the risk of injury to the concerned individual as well as authorities and the public involved in the situation.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and deputies employed with the MDCSO transported Hilton to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. The Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals were also present. They provided necessary care and support to his family members.
The co-CEOs of the talent management firm that represents Hilton, Golden Artists Entertainment, shared a statement on Tuesday night. They said they “are aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client, Perez Hilton.”
Co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli stated: “Our focus remains on Perez’s health, recovery, and the privacy of both him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
