Brian Austin Green opens up about lowering sex drive as he gets older
On the Saturday episode of iHeartRadio’s “I Do, Part 2” podcast, Brian Austin Green talked about the impact of aging on sex drive. “As men age, do you notice that your sex drive is lowering?” a listener sent a question. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star answered, “Sure, absolutely, of course.” He continued, “That is a chemical thing, that is testosterone, and that is what men, as they age start naturally losing.”
The actor added, “You can take supplements, and you can go the opposite direction. But to me, honestly, absolutely, sex drive lowers.” Green further shared that one cannot “avoid that.” The 53-year-old noted, “I didn’t ask for it.”
Guiney also shared his opinions on the subject. “Well, when you’re 16, 17, 18, 25, whatever, it’s like, all you think about is sex,” he said. The TV star added, “It’s like, ‘How am I going to have it? Where am I going to find it?” Guiney added, “As you get older, you got so many other things going on in your life and so many other responsibilities and so many other things.”
Moreover, Green talked about his former marriage and the importance of physical attraction. “My ex and I were together for almost 15 years. We were married for almost 10 years, and I led with physical attraction,” he said.
The award-winning actor shared what that relationship taught him. “First, I’d be physically attracted to somebody and then sort of build a relationship around that,” he said. However, things changed after the divorce, and Green made sure not to repeat things he had done. He went to “all sorts of therapy” to figure out what it was he “brought into a relationship.”
The father of five shared how emotional bond now plays a role in physical intimacy with his partner. “It’s not just the physical act the same way. There’s emotion to it too,” Green shared.
