Amazon Prime Video has been home to a lot of great action thrillers over the years, but none have made a bigger impact on the streaming world than a smash hit based on a series of popular novels. Debuting in 2022, the series premiered with much fanfare, and has since become a cultural juggernaut that people can’t get enough of, if for nothing more than its charismatic star. Following the show’s return to Prime Video last week, it remains the biggest hit in the world, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Alan Ritchson Leads Prime Video’s #1 Action Thriller
Developed by Nick Santora, Prime Video’s Reacher stars Alan Ritchson as the hulking hero made famous thanks to author Lee Child. Each season adapts a different novel in the series, with the latest, Season 4, bringing to life the 13th novel, Gone Tomorrow. Kicking off with a bang, the show begins with Reacher witnessing a suicide on a subway, which in turn pulls him into a conspiracy involving intelligence agencies, terrorists, and powerful political interests.
Making the leap from small towns to the hustle and bustle of New York City and Washington, D.C., Reacher Season 4 is the most ambitious one yet. It feels bigger in every way, and by leaning into the espionage, surveillance, and national-security elements, the stakes are higher than ever in the hit action thriller.
Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 94%, Reacher Season 4 has already made a big impact on Prime Video since its return to the streaming platform on Aug.12. It quickly rose up the daily charts to take the #1 spot, and for the week of Aug. 10-16, it was the biggest show in the world, coming in first on the list of Top 10 Prime Original series (English & non-English) worldwide.

‘Reacher’ Season 5 Is Already a Sure Thing
For those wondering if Reacher will be back next year on Prime Video, you can take comfort in knowing the series has already been renewed for Season 5. Filming is currently underway in Ontario, Canada, and the next season will adapt the 20th novel in Child’s book series, Make Me, which returns the franchise to a small town in Oklahoma where Reacher finds himself teaming with an off duty FBI Agent to help find her missing partner.
Also set to premiere next month is the spin-off, Neagey, which will start on the same day Reacher Season 4 concludes, Sept. 16. The new series will put Maria Sten’s character front and center to investigate the suspicious death of someone from her past. Of course, there’s a much larger conspiracy going on, so Neagley will have to use her special set of skills if she wants answers, meaning that – like the flagship series – the show will feature no shortage of action.
