Blake Lively is feeling the Halloween mom struggle, and she’s giving all the mamas a shout-out. The Gossip Girl alum took to her Instagram Stories to show off her paint-covered hand after a late-night Halloween prep session. She admitted that the experience left her with a little extra appreciation for moms. The actress shares four children, James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Blake shared the messy-but-sweet update on the night before Halloween, writing, “Shout out to all the moms,” over the video. She then joked that her “puffy paint hand is losing its zest at 1am,” before signing off by saying she was “appreciating my mama a little extra tonight.”
The video opens with a close-up of Blake holding her palm up to the camera. Her hand is streaked with blue, white and glittery flecks of paint. She wears a plaid cuff at her wrist along with a pink jacket sleeve. It’s safe to say the puffy paint won this round. The Story was set to a slowed-down version of Semisonic’s “Closing Time,” a fitting soundtrack for a 1 a.m. craft session.
Furthermore, the clip then pans to the project itself. It shows a red quilted piece lettered “Tony’s Chocolonely” in sparkly blue and white paint, with a few of the brand’s chocolate bars sitting on it and beside it on a dark countertop. Blake ends the video by holding up her palm one more time, giving fans another look at the damage.
This isn’t the first time the Gossip Girl alum has treated fans to a peek at her family’s Halloween festivities. Earlier this month, she shared a creepy surprise her kids left in the fridge, made of apple slices, marshmallow eyes, and glasses, and said she was obsessed with her kids. Blake has also been sharing relatable Stories lately. Now that Halloween is officially here, let’s hope Blake gets a well-deserved rest and plenty of chocolate.
