Chadwick Boseman‘s estate is back in the headlines again. Nearly six years after his death, the late actor’s brothers have filed a new court petition. They want his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, removed as administrator of his estate.

Chadwick Boseman’s brothers have filed a new court petition. Kevin and Derrick Boseman want Taylor Simone Ledward removed as administrator of the late actor’s estate. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the brothers claim she has not properly distributed estate assets since Chadwick Boseman’s death in August 2020 due to colon cancer.
The filing says Ledward has continued managing the estate alone. “She continues to exercise complete control over his estate without input from Leroy and Carolyn,” the petition states. The filing refers to Chadwick’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn.
According to the petition, they are entitled to 25% of the estate. Ledward is reportedly entitled to 50% because Chadwick died without leaving a will, as the couple married only days before his death.
In 2022, a court order directed Ledward to distribute estate assets. Kevin and Derrick claim she never transferred the $40,000 policy. The petition also claims there are additional estate assets. These reportedly include royalties, residuals, image rights, intellectual property, real estate, another bank account, and personal property.
The brothers further allege that Ledward’s actions have lacked transparency. The filing claims, “Lack of transparency creates the appearance that she is concealing assets from Decedent’s family and from the Court.”
They also allege SAG-AFTRA residual payments remain unaccounted for. The filing further claims that Chadwick’s image and intellectual property rights have not been properly distributed. It also claims Ledward has blocked business opportunities involving the estate.
Kevin and Derrick believe those opportunities could benefit Chadwick’s elderly parents. The brothers are asking the court for another administrator. Kevin and Derrick have asked the court to appoint Jason Rubin as the estate’s new administrator. Rubin is a private professional fiduciary and forensic accountant.
Neither Ledward nor the attorneys representing her side have commented on the new court filing.
