Dorinda Medley Reveals She Almost “Decimated” Jessel Taank on RHUGT After Iconic Bubble Costume Shade, Plus Why She Joined The Golden Life

Dorinda Medley revealed she almost “decimated” Jessel Taank on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip – and addressed deciding to join E!’s The Golden Life when she realized Bravo wasn’t asking them back to Real Housewives of New York.

Earlier this year, original castmates from RHONY banded together to film a new reality show on E! called The Golden Life, years after it was suggested that the original stars would get their own show on Bravo.

At a party on the recent season of RHUGT, current RHONY castmate Jessel shaded Dorinda’s Lady Gaga bubble costume, which she famously wore on a past season. Jessel seemed confused by the costume and appeared to throw shade at her.

According to Dorinda on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, Jessel asked her at the party, “What are you wearing?” After Dorinda explained that it was her Lady Gaga bubble costume, Jessel pointed out that she was wearing a “repeat outfit.”

“That is her response to the iconic bubble dress,” said Dorinda, via Reality Tea on AOL. “She had no idea what [the costume] was. … She had no idea why I was wearing it.” But the situation didn’t improve after Dorinda explained the costume.

“Thank God for Chanel Ayan who grabbed my hand [and stopped it from escalating],” the star continued. “I was ready to put the hand up. … I was like, she has to be joking. … [I nearly] decimated this person [but held back].”

She claimed that Jessel kept talking about the costume after. “There should be a level of respect for the original,” said Dorinda.

Around the same time, on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Dorinda hinted that she chose to join The Golden Life when she realized that she wouldn’t be returning to RHONY.

“We were at the last BravoCon, and Luann and I realized we weren’t gonna be asked back to Bravo,” she explained. “As loyal as we are, we love Bravo, we had this beautiful run, we were like you know what? Let’s take a chance and do this. So, when E! gave us the opportunity, we thought why not.”

The Golden Life premieres October 20 on E!.
