Jeff Lewis recently returned to Bravo with his new show, Still Flipping Out.
While Jeff, 56, shares a daughter with ex Gage Edward, 42, Gage is not taking part in the new series.
On September 9, Gage took to Instagram to share a video which he captioned with the following: “After much discussion with my family, I’ve decided not to return to filming after seven seasons. Thank you so much @bravotv for the opportunity and the memories. Never say never, but bye for now! Wanted you guysssss to hear it from me first! #theynevercalled.”
Clearly, Gage was pointing out that he was not invited to participate in the new show.
In the clip, he stated, “Hey, guys, so I just wanted to come on here really quick. A lot of you have been asking, um, and I have really, you know, thought deep and hard, and I have decided to really focus in on some other opportunities and some other projects, and really just focus on my family. So, you know, I wanted you to hear it from me first.”
“After seven years of being on Flipping Out, I’m going to take a break from filming this year,” he continued. “You know, the door’s always open, so you never know what might happen. But, yeah, so they didn’t call me back. They didn’t email. No one reached out. But it’s okay because I have so many things to focus on. So, um, I won’t be on this season, I just – spoiler alert!”
Gage noted the cast has “really gone in a different direction.”
“I don’t think it’s good for… for me right now in this moment… it’s not right for me and my family at this moment,” he added. “So, I’m going to focus on my family, my other projects, and, um… yeah, just wanted you to hear it from me first, so. I wish the cast the best, you know. I think it’ll probably be a great season. I’m sure they won’t talk about me at all, so I just, you know, follow along, follow my projects, and yeah, we’ll see you down the road, you know? Okay, bye-bye.”
Then, two days ago, Gage returned to Instagram with an update where he took some serious digs at Jeff and his new show, noting that “ratings are in” in the caption.
“Oh my gosh, you guys, I have to update you,” Gage began. “So, I posted this reel, just, you know, describing my situation, and like, after seven years of filming and eight years off from filming, I just like, it’s time to pump the brakes.”
“I got to focus on me, finally, for once,” he elaborated. “I’m just going to focus on all of these opportunities, and like, just things are just like, being thrown at me.”
Gage explicitly stated he “can’t film.”
“I told you all that, basically launched my influencer career, and what’s crazy is that more people watched that reel than watched the whole television show, the whole first episode,” he stated. “So, I don’t know, maybe I’m onto something. You know, like all that production dollar and, you know, the months of pre-production, and the ‘edit this’ and ‘clip that’ and ‘reshoot that dinner scene because we didn’t get it the first time’ … um, you know, all of that stuff.”
Gage reiterated that he “spent five minutes” posting a reel and that “more people watched it.”
“So, Bravo, maybe call me back next time,” he concluded. “So anyways, yes, so I’m an influencer, it’s official. Now you know one of my opportunities, big surprise. All right, okay, we’ll see you next time.”
Jeff, who is never one to shy away from a back-and-forth with someone, took to his SiriusXM radio show, Jeff Lewis Live, to respond.
“There was a rumor going around that we had to shoot that twice,” he stated. “That is not true.”
He then addressed Gage, sharing, “This is scary because you would rather be… destitute, and then, you know, you’d rather… you’d rather root for my failure, and then without even really thinking about the fact that I support… I support you and… and our daughter.”
Jeff noted that he “did see” Gage’s Instagram post even though he’s blocked.
“It is next level crazy, like unstable, unhinged,” he added.
Gage has yet to respond to Jeff’s rebuttal.
