Beatriz Hatz responded to speculation about her sexuality during a FaceTime conversation with Jaleen in behind-the-scenes footage featured on an episode of Love Island USA: Aftersun. “Bro, these bitches swear that you’re gay. It’s a big thing on the internet,” Jaleen told the Paralympic athlete. Hatz replied, “Athletes are always put in that box. Like, ‘If you’re a female athlete, you’re probably gay.’” Jaleen further noted that some viewers were assigning her friend a “label she does not identify with.”
The 25-year-old continued, “I’m just a tomboy. Let me live my life. I love d–k, please!” Discussing Hatz’s journey on Love Island USA, she began the season paired with Sean Reifel. Eventually, she formed a connection with Gabriel Vasconcelos, the first bombshell of the season. The pair grew close and shared several moments together on the show. However, Gabriel later kissed new bombshells Jennifer “Jen” Terry and Sol Dean.
Fans voted for Gabriel to be paired with Jennifer, while Sol Dean was coupled with Sincere Rhea. The remaining contestants were Hatz, Corbin Mimis, and Melanie Moreno. The host then asked Corbin to choose between Hatz and Melanie. He selected Melanie, leaving Hatz single, resulting in her elimination from the show. Despite her departure, Hatz spoke positively about her connection with Gabriel.
She described the model as “genuine,” “down to earth,” and “kind.” Gabriel also praised Hatz, saying, “In a short amount of time, being so close to you has been incredible.” He continued, “You are a very strong person. And you’re going to get everything you want in life. You deserve it.” Moreover, Hatz said she would like to explore whether there is potential for a relationship with Gabriel after the show.
