Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s return to the UK has once again put their relationship with King Charles and the royal family under scrutiny. After stepping away from royal duties in 2020, the couple built a life in America. Now, one expert has made a blunt claim about Meghan’s ambitions.
Meghan Markle ‘wants to be better’ than King Charles, claims expert
Royal author Angela Levin has claimed that Meghan wants to position herself above senior members of the royal family, including King Charles. She linked this alleged ambition to the couple’s frustration over the terms of their departure from royal life.
“Well, they agreed to something in 2020 when they left and had to sign an agreement about what they would be doing so they wouldn’t use their royal status for commercial gain,” Royal author Angela Levin explained.
“But they couldn’t bear to have someone telling them what to do, saying, ‘You can’t do this, but you can do that.’ “They are furious about not being allowed to be ‘half-in, half-out’ royals. She’s got to be number one.”
Royal expert Hugo Vickers questioned the couple’s renewed UK involvement after a SunWorld exclusive revealed their return. “They need to be associated with the British royal family to secure their commercial deals; otherwise, we wouldn’t be talking about them,” he explained.
Vickers further added, “Now that they have returned, if they want to take part in public life. It is completely contradictory to what was agreed at the Sandringham meeting back in 2020, when the late Queen was still alive. They must accept that.”
Levin was even more direct, claiming Meghan wanted to surpass other senior royals. “She wants to be better than the King, better than Princess Catherine. She’s got to be at the top of the line. But she has this drive that she’s got to be the best,” she added.
“She [Meghan] finds out when their events are happening and tries to distract from them.” The claims come after years of scrutiny over Megxit. Their interviews, Netflix series, Harry’s memoir, and security disputes have kept them in the spotlight.
