Paramount+ has acquired non-exclusive rights to several kids franchises from Moonbug Entertainment, including series from the “CoComelon” and “Blippi” universes.
Under the new deal, some Moonbug series will begin appearing on Paramount+ starting Nov. 1. Paramount+ will acquire more than 60 hours of programming, including “CoComelon’s JJ’s Animal Time” and “CoComelon’s The Melon Patch,” “Blippi,” “Meekah” and “Little Baby Bum.” The shows will be added to Paramount streaming platforms in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Italy and Latin America.
“We’re excited to work with an ambitious partner like Paramount+ to bring Moonbug’s brands to even more families around the world,” said Moonbug Entertainment’s Nicolas Eglau, managing director EMEA, APAC & global distribution, in a statement. “Paramount+ has built a strong kids and family offering, and we believe our much-loved brands are a natural complement to their slate. We share an ambition to deliver great entertainment for kids and families, and we’re looking forward to what we can build together.”
On Nov. 1, joining Paramount+ will be “Blippi” Season 1, “CoComelon’s JJ’s Animal Time” Season 1 and “Little Angel.”
That’s followed on Dec. 15 by “Blippi” Season 2, “CoComelon’s The Melon Patch” Seasons 1 and 2, “Little Baby Bum Universe” and “Meekah.”
Moonbug Entertainment, which is part of Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs’ Candle Media, has found success distributing its fare across multiple platforms. This reps the first time Paramount+ has added Moonbug programming to its platform.
Among other homes, “CoComelon’s JJ Animal Time” and “CoComelon’s The Melon Patch” are available on Netflix and Disney+; “Blippi” and “Meekah” are also on Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video; “Little Baby Bum” is also on Netflix; and “Little Angel” is also on Netflix and Disney+.
