Alexis Bellino and her husband, John Janssen, accused Heather Dubrow of swearing them to silence in regard to the footage John had of Shannon Beador‘s DUI crash during a podcast appearance on Friday.
After fans watched Alexis, 49, and Heather, 57, face off at Tamra Judge‘s Vena seltzer launch party on last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Alexis and John, 63, said that while they aimed to “protect” his ex-girlfriend, Heather took it upon herself to expose the information and use it against them.
“We told Heather in confidence, and yes, she did know it was in confidence. And by the way … she told us, ‘Do not ever tell anyone this information. You cannot share this with anyone. You guys need to go…’ Twice she told us that. On the phone and then when we were at Rare Society restaurant.’ She said, ‘Do not ever share this information, Alexis. You guys cannot.’ And John always said, ‘What’s wrong with the truth?’ My truth is not bad,” Alexis began on the October 9 episode of Reality With the King.
According to John, Heather told him not to tell anybody he heard Shannon crash her car.
“But then she goes back on national television and lets everyone know, unbeknownst to us, and also privately, information that we didn’t ever want to share with anyone,” Alexis continued, noting that she and John agreed to take the information “to the grave.”
“John had every opportunity to share this with America, all of season 18 with the footage we had and all this. We decided, you know what? We’re gonna protect Shannon and not tell anyone,” she explained.
Although Alexis and John didn’t want the information to get out, they now feel that they have no choice but to talk about it.
“Thank you, Heather, for giving us this platform because now we have to and we don’t even want to,” Alexis said. “Thank you, Heather, for your unthoughtfulness of sharing information that was never yours to share.”
Continuing on about the topic, John said that when it comes to reality TV, it’s not always “real.”
“And what I mean by that is there are so many lies by omission,” he noted, also confirming that he never wanted to talk about the footage publicly.
“I never wanted to talk about this, but I’m so sick of being the bad guy and this false narrative that’s out there about me that is so unfair,” he shared. “I like [Dr. Terry Dubrow] and Heather, and I don’t know why she’s doing this, but she keeps bringing this up that, ‘John heard the crash,’ as if it’s some kind of a smoking gun.”
According to John, Heather’s explanation of the footage made him look bad.
“The audience is left thinking, ‘Wow, he heard the crash, and he didn’t do anything,’” he stated.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
