A new Supergirl clip from DC Studios has stirred up fans online. The film brings Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow to life as the second DCU film.
Why are Supergirl fans furious about the new DCU movie clip?
A new Supergirl clip is drawing criticism from fans, as it appears to reveal a significant portion of the film’s climax. The clip shows Milly Alcock’s Supergirl fighting Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, with Ruthye Marye Knoll also part of the encounter. The clip also shows Jason Momoa’s Lobo in action against Krem’s henchmen.
In the eight-issue Woman of Tomorrow miniseries, Supergirl’s confrontation with Krem takes place in the final issue. It’s unclear whether the film has restructured the story to bring their clash earlier. Regardless, the clip has frustrated many fans online who feel it spoils a pivotal moment in the film.
Many fans have furiously asked Warner Bros. why the clip was posted on social media days ahead of the film’s release. Some fans are angry over the fact that the clip, combined with the film’s previous trailers, has given away most of its narrative beats.
While the clip has angered some viewers, there are also some fans who have expressed their excitement for the film after watching it. This is also the best look fans have gotten yet at Lobo in action, who looks accurate to his comic-book appearance.

Supergirl will return in Man of Tomorrow next year. The DC universe continues to expand with a Wonder Woman film also in development, coming from Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira. A recent post from DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn also sparked speculation about the Girl of Steel’s team-up with Wonder Woman in the future.
Supergirl, directed by Craig Gillespie, flies into theaters on June 26, 2026.
