The Valley Reunion Part 3: Danny Admits to Using Alcohol As a Coping Mechanism; Brittany Compares Her Relationship With Jax to Danny and Nia's; Plus, Jesse Calls Michelle Out Over Her Dating Life

The Valley reunion part 3-because the group is still not done questioning Danny‘s drinking habits.  Thankfully, by the end they are able to come together for a toast, but not before Lala calls out behaviors, Kristen cries multiple times, and Janet opens up further about her past trauma.

What happened at Jasmine‘s wedding? Danny denies he was drinking there, but according to Brittany, Zack told her there was a “big thing” that went down. Jesse was told by Nia to not tell Danny there was an after-party …because Danny was already too intoxicated?  Nia denies she was insinuating that, but claims she wanted to stay at their hotel and did not want people “encouraging” Danny to attend. Jesse makes it clear that Danny was not “super receptive” to leaving the wedding and Lala is sick of Zack speaking in code trying to protect Danny and his antics. Nia reminds Lala that they are a married couple and if she wanted her husband home rather than at an after-party, so be it.

Brittany likens the way Nia protects Danny to how she used to protect Jax. Brittany makes it clear that she is not comparing Jax to Danny and Danny admits that he did use alcohol to cope due to stress and anxiety.  Andy wonders why Danny would continue drinking on camera and Danny claims that these semi-bad moments captured on camera are inconsistent.  Danny goes on to say he has been working with someone to help him figure out how to handle those types of situations without booze.

Danny blames his blowups to heightened states when Nia did not have his back and believes that his drinking “problem” is a false narrative. Danny reminds everyone that Jax admitted to putting a target on Danny’s back to create issues with him. Lala continues to interject and tells Danny that he blames other people for his drinking and she refuses to let Danny blame Jax when he is not there.

Nia points out how sad it is that on WWHL, Lala hoped Nia would leave Danny. Lala takes it a few steps too far when she states, “if he is verbally talking to you in a way that is not okay behind closed doors and what we watched is a glimpse into what you go through, yes, I would hope that you go be with someone who babies you and will love you and take your babies and go live a good life.” WOW.  Lala immediately gets crushed by the group for overstepping. Nia makes it clear that Lala does NOT know their home life and she should essentially STFU.

A quick subject change: Zack’s Mexico injury gets brought up and he explains that he had to do whatever it took to continue celebrating his birthday. Gotta applaud him for that…

Michelle gets called out for wanting Jesse to alter his behavior and lessen his PDA with his girlfriend, Lacy. Jesse admits that he is more affectionate with Lacy, but he had to sit through Michelle smooching a boyfriend in front of his face last season so? Jesse apologizes for telling Michelle she needs to toughen up as Lacy acts as a positive mediator for both parties.

Janet explains that she opened up to Lala about a traumatic piece of her story so that Lala could get even closer to her. Janet shares that she was 12 years old when the situation happened and she feels as though a part of her innocence was ripped away from her. She goes on to say her dad was a very abusive addict and there are often times when she still feels unsafe, not just in this group.

Kristen’s skepticism of Janet’s timing of sharing the story was very real, but now Kristen is back-pedaling about Janet’s trauma. Kristen apologizes for calling the timing convenient.

Jasmine wonders why Kristen was so open and receptive to Lala’s triggers, but not hers. Kristen becomes emotional and admits that she was letting her anger towards Janet override her support for Jasmine. Jasmine states that she was not trying to make the issue about race, but she always tried to state her feelings, yet she got shut down.  But the moment a “white girl” (aka Lala) says something, everyone listens. Jasmine explains that she always has that in the back of her mind and Kristen is thankful that Jasmine opened up to her and explained her feelings.

Later, Kristen explains that she was “gutted” for calling out Jasmine, Brittany, and Zack’s drinking. She admits it was a bad thing to say and Jasmine reminds Kristen that they are her family. Jasmine tells Kristen that the three of them will never leave her.

Regarding her relationship with Luke, Kristen blames it on a year plus of pent up issues.  Schwartz worries that Kristen’s past mindsets might harm her future ones, but he does apologize for disrespectful comments when Kristen was only 3 months postpartum.  Kristen admits to a fear of Luke leaving her and Andy suggests they get back into couple’s therapy.

Nia acted like a “lineman in a prairie dress” because she was trying to stop the heightened dramatics of it all. Brittany reminds Danny that he started it, but Danny is adamant that Lala just keeps inserting herself. Lala claims that Danny was always “anti-conversation,” but Danny is sick of Lala poking.

Since Brittany’s Halloween party, Jasmine and Michelle do not have a deep relationship and Michelle did not even go to Jasmine’s wedding because Jasmine unfollowed Michelle (plus Jesse was going to be there so…)

Jesse was so mad Michelle introduced their daughter to another man AGAIN.  Michelle claims that their daughter came to a showing with her, but Jesse is leary of Michelle and her relationships. Michelle is tired of Jesse trying to paint her as a bad mother.

When it comes to the “guilt-tripping Zack” issues, Brittany hates that Zack and Kristen threw her under the bus so quickly.  Zack admits to being wrong, but not as wrong as Janet throwing a drink in Danny’s face. Most of the group believe that Janet crossed a line by doing that.

Nia backtracks and claims that not everyone in the group is terrible.  Lala refuses to be called a terrible person and Nia regrets putting a label on anyone; however, Danny is unsure where to go from here as Nia says she is grateful for the friendships that they do have within the group.

Andy ends the reunion on a happy note.  He talks to Jasmine about her beautiful wedding (that Michelle did not attend).  Jasmine’s wife, Melissa, then enters with Zack’s boyfriend, Benji, and they come bearing champagne to toast this big milestone. Jesse makes a speech that is shockingly short and the reunion ends pleasantly, with everyone jumping into the group photo.
