The Young and the Restless has Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) are going to get busted while sneaking around together. It’s just a matter of when it happens and who catches them. And based on recent events, I have a sneaking suspicion that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could be the one to bust them.
Today we’re going to talk about Kyle and Victoria starting to fall for each other right as they get caught and why it may be Phyllis that catches them and wants to use it to her advantage.
Young and the Restless: Kyle’s & Victoria’s Careful Plotting
So, we know Kyle just got this nice new apartment for him in Victoria that they are calling the Danger Zone. No doubt that is a huge step up from the Riverbend Motel, which was definitely too risky of a meeting place. Especially because Phyllis and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) were hooking up there. So, the apartment is not only way nicer. But also way more private. It’s got an indoor garage, so Kyle and Victoria can pull their cars in, enter through there. They will not be seen from the street. Clearly, Kyle and Victoria are trying to minimize the risk of getting caught as much as they can.
They now even have code names for each other in their phones, Natasha and Boris, so they will not be caught texting each other. But of course, we know Kyle and Victoria will get caught eventually, and October Sweeps kicks off in a month. So, that’s actually when I suspect that those two are going to get caught. And I’ve seen several red flags recently that point to it being Phyllis who may be the one to figure out that Kyle is getting frisky with Victoria. And of course, Phyllis will know it’s a big deal that will cause major issues, particularly with Victoria’s family.
Phyllis’ Big Plan on Y&R
So, right now, Phyllis is trying to buy up real estate in Genoa City. She’s hounding Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). We’ve seen Phyllis asking Cane to sell her all the real estate that he had bought up when he first came back to Genoa City. So, Phyllis wants it all. And Cane already suspects that Phyllis is trying to pick up where he left off. But Cane does not really care. So, this week, he agrees to sell Phyllis the GCAC and the building across from Newman Enterprises.
At the same time, we’ve got Kyle who just invested in new real estate by grabbing up that apartment for him and Victoria. So, with Phyllis snapping up property, she’s looking around at stuff in town and she may look at the building where Kyle bought. It could even be a property that Cane owns and Phyllis is checking out. Because she wants it. And then she sees Kyle there.
Young and Restless: Phyllis Already Suspicious
And remember, Phyllis and Matt spotted Kyle at the Riverbend Motel and thought that that was pretty suspicious. And because that’s Phyllis’s ex-son-in-law, if she sees Kyle creeping around, I absolutely think Phyllis would follow Kyle to that apartment, lurk outside, she may spot Victoria. I do not put it past Phyllis to get binoculars, to peek in windows, to hack into the property database and get a list of tenants. And if Phyllis spies and sees Kyle with Victoria, I’m sure Phyllis would be stunned.
And then to make things even soapier, it looks like Victoria and Kyle go from friends with benefits to something a lot more romantic. Victoria and Kyle both agree their fling is pure chemistry. But in an interview, Michael Mealor said, “Kyle and Victoria catch feelings, and I’m pretty sure that starts soon. Because this week, Victoria is so stressed about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) just found out that Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) is still in town and she overdosed again at the same motel she met Nick.
The Newmans Terrified for Nick on Y&R
So, the whole family told Nick so that he would not hear about it from somebody else. And he’s absolutely on fire about it. Because he just saw Joe the drug dealer and Nick’s worried about Marie and he’s furious. Because he knows sketchy drug dealer Joe sold the drugs to Marie that she overdosed on.
Drug dealer Joe ran into Nick near Crimson Lights and Joe flat out told him that he had just seen Marie. Nick knows Joe sold her the drugs and almost killed her. So right now Nick is all fired up. He’s angry and he said that he wants to wipe Joe off the face of the earth. And understandably this week Nick’s family is worried that he’s going to go full vigilante and try to put an end to Joe.
Young and the Restless: Nick Worried about Marie
So, the Newmans are worried. They do not want Nick doing this. They do not want him getting into trouble. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and all the Newmans just want to keep Nick away so that he’s not associating with the drug world in any way. They do not want him to relapse.
But Nick feels so bad for Marie. Because he found out she’s all alone in the world and he feels responsible and Nick feels like he should have done more to help Marie. So this week, Victoria, Adam, Nikki, and Victor are all discussing Nick again. They’re all trying to think positively. But Victoria is extremely stressed about Nick and she fears the worst.
Young and Restless: Victoria Falls Apart
So, Victoria goes to the Danger Zone this week and she’s calling out for Kyle. But he’s not there. And then Victoria sits down and she starts to cry. And of course, we know Kyle’s going to show up. He’ll see Victoria upset. I’m sure he’s really concerned. Plus, we have got official The Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday that say Kyle sees a different side of Victoria.
So, I’m sure that’s because she is emotionally vulnerable. Something Kyle’s not really seen from Victoria before. And I’m betting this is the starting point for Kyle and Victoria. You know, to begin getting caught up in feelings for each other. It was interesting that she ran to Kyle when she was upset. You know, that’s not usually what you do, confide emotionally in your hot young booty call guy.
Kyle has only ever seen Victoria like this once before. And that was also when Victoria was having another moment when she was worried about Nick and his drug addiction. I think that was when he was missing from rehab. And that time, Kyle ran into Victoria at Crimson Lights. She was near tears. He was comforting her.
Young and the Restless: Things Take a Turn for Victoria & Kyle
And that’s when Kyle had that first initial spark with Victoria and they almost kissed. But Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) interrupted. So, I’m betting that Kyle is going to be worried about Victoria and again, he is going to be comforting her and I think those are going to be the first real feelings for each other that are not just physical.
And with Kyle getting closer to Victoria emotionally, they’re not going to want to walk away from each other. You know, ending a fun and dangerous fling. Because they’re caught, you know, that’s one thing. But I think by the time they’re caught, there’s going to be more at stake for Kyle and Victoria with real feelings involved.
Phyllis Sees Opportunity on Y&R
So, if Phyllis comes into the mix and is the one to catch them, as I suspect, I’m thinking she might low-key blackmail them rather than just running to rat them out to Jack Abbott and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Because in the end, Phyllis is all about herself. So, she might agree to keep Kyle and Victoria’s big secret if they help her with the real estate plot she’s cooking up.
Because if Phyllis thinks she can get something out of them, I’m sure she would rather do that than just expose them. So, everything changes for Kyle and Victoria by the end of this week. And we will just have to keep a close eye on Phyllis.
