The Bold and the Beautiful delivers Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) falling apart right now because of this insane surrogacy scheme. Thanks to Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor)’s constant pressure, Steffy is in too deep to back out now without blowing up her whole life.
But I suspect it is all going to fall apart anyway. Right now, Steffy already feels like she can’t back out of the fake surrogacy, but I suspect we could see her just coming apart at the seams. Today we’re going to talk about Carter’s scheme that sends Steffy into a downward spiral.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Carter’s Lies to Daphne
So, this week, we saw Carter telling Daphne Rose Walton (Murielle Hilaire) that Steffy had the insemination procedure done, which is a big lie. And Carter told Daphne that now they just have to wait and see if Steffy’s pregnant, which is another lie, because Carter knows full well Steffy is already knocked up. And I don’t think Carter is going to wait very long at all before telling Daphne that Steffy took a pregnancy test, because Carter wants the clock ticking on this fake surrogacy, trying to align the timelines as much as he can to when he really impregnated Steffy on the CEO couch at Forrester Creations.
So, Carter will tell Daphne, “Yay, it worked. Steffy is definitely pregnant.” And the procedure was a success. And once he tells Daphne that Steffy is pregnant, then Carter will probably breathe a big sigh of relief because they’ve got the timeline as plausibly close as possible.
Carter Relieved on B&B
We know, obviously, it’s off by several weeks because Steffy and Carter made the baby with that drunken whoopsie after the Monte Carlo trip, when Steffy and Carter thought their marriages were over. But that won’t matter to Daphne and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) once they find out what happened.
But once Carter’s scheme has completely taken hold, now all they have to do is wait for the baby to be born. So, I think Carter thinks like, okay, smooth sailing. But I think we’re going to see Steffy rapidly unraveling. She’s already distraught that Carter manipulated her into this massive lie. And really, it’s just one lie after another.
Steffy and Finn’s Marriage Strained on Bold
And we also know that Finn is going to be really upset with Steffy once he finds out that she’s already gone through with the insemination procedure while Finn was out of town, because Steffy knew Finn was against it. Then Steffy has to tell Finn that she is already pregnant. And once Steffy admits to all of that, I think Finn is going to feel betrayed because Steffy did all this against Finn’s wishes and behind his back.
There is an official spoiler that says Steffy tries to get romantic with Finn, and I’m sure she’s going to try and smooth things over and get their marriage back to normal. But of course, we know Steffy and Finn are never going to go back to normal. But what I’m wondering is if Steffy is going to have a hard time being intimate with Finn because she keeps flashing back and picturing Carter because of how insanely guilty Steffy feels. I think this is all going to be awkward.
Steffy Unravels on B&B
And Carter thinks that once they tell everybody that Steffy’s pregnant, they will have kind of turned a corner and can just breathe a sigh of relief that they’ve gotten away with it. But I don’t think that’s going to be the case for Steffy. Everybody thinks she’s doing something so wonderful for Carter and Daphne. Steffy will be getting a lot of positive feedback that I think is just going to make her feel even worse because she knows she’s a cheater.
Carter is also feeling a lot of guilt. He was just freaking out when Daphne wanted to get frisky on the CEO couch this week, remember? So Carter is troubled also, but not as much as Steffy. And I suspect even after Carter tells Daphne that the procedure worked and Carter assures Steffy that they’re in the clear, things are only going to get worse for her from there on out.
The Bold and Beautiful: Taylor Grills Steffy
Especially because Steffy is the one carrying Carter’s baby that is growing inside of her. Steffy is still really struggling with the idea of just handing over her baby to Carter and Daphne. And that is going to be so incredibly difficult for Steffy. It’s hard to imagine she can go through with this in the end.
We just saw Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) grilling Steffy, asking her what’s wrong. So, I do expect we’re going to see Steffy spiraling during this entire pregnancy because she knows she’s going to have to give her baby up to Daphne, and also because I suspect things stay pretty rocky for Steffy and Finn and may even get worse for Steffy in the weeks and months ahead of us on Bold and the Beautiful.
And once Taylor and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) find out that Steffy is Carter and Daphne’s surrogate, I suspect her parents are going to have a whole lot of questions for her. So, I think the stress is just going to be way too much for Steffy, and I think we’re going to see the guilt eating her up constantly.
Bold and the Beautiful: The Truth Exposed
On top of that, there is a chance that somebody might uncover the truth. It could be Taylor or Finn or maybe even Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), because all of them have access to hospital records. Taylor is already worried about Steffy, and she’s asking questions, and I don’t think Taylor is going to drop it and let it go. But in the end, I think Steffy may open up to Taylor before anybody else finds out because Steffy knows that Taylor will keep her secrets.
And Steffy desperately needs somebody to confide in because the only other person who knows right now is Carter. And of course, he’s got skin in the game. He’s pressuring and manipulating Steffy, and he has an agenda. So, she needs a confidant that she can trust who isn’t trying to use her. So Taylor may be pulled into this surrogacy scheme fairly soon. And I do think Steffy will eventually come clean to Finn and Daphne because she just can’t take the stress of these lies, especially because people are going to start to notice how distraught Steffy is.
Pregnancy Complications Could Expose the Truth on Bold
She may even fall into a depression that has everybody really worried. And honestly, all this stress is not going to be good for her and Carter’s baby. So, we could actually see some complications with the pregnancy. And if Steffy has to go to the hospital or has extra doctor’s appointments because of the stress, that may cause more problems because Finn may want to go to the doctor with Steffy. I’m sure Daphne is also going to want to attend all of these doctor’s appointments. And we might even see that Taylor wants to tag along, too.
The more eyes on the ultrasounds, the scans, and the blood test, the more likely that somebody will realize the math doesn’t align on Steffy’s pregnancy progress and the date of the supposed insemination. That could be problematic. So, I suspect that this is all going to cause mental health issues for Steffy. She’s already falling apart. She does not look like somebody who is excited to be giving her best friend Daphne a miracle baby. Steffy looks like somebody who’s going through a horrible, traumatic ordeal right now.
And I would expect that Taylor’s the first to realize that Steffy is in a spiral, and Finn may be next to notice something is off. While Carter keeps pressuring Steffy to suck it up and pretend she’s fine, she just can’t do it. With everybody finding out soon that Steffy is pregnant, I think we’re going to see things get a whole lot worse for Steffy, and things begin to spiral out of control.
