Directed by Andrew Bernstein, from a script Krasinski penned with Aaron Rabin, the film sees Ryan returning to the spy world after deciding to retire. His friend James Greer (Wendell Pierce) is now one of the heads of the CIA, and he convinces Ryan to join Mike November (Michael Kelly) for a simple retrieval mission overseas. Simple, right?

Of course, things go south pretty quickly. Liam Crown (Max Beesley) is a former MI6 operative who created Project Starling with Greer in the past. The program is a black-ops operation that Crown is using to bend law enforcement agencies to his will, inciting terrorists to attack and proving that systems like Starling are necessary.

While big names like Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck have played Ryan before, they have nothing on Krasinski’s interpretation of the character. The Office alum has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead an action thriller while portraying a very compelling figure, and in Jack Ryan: Ghost War he gives his best performance yet. Even though the film feels a bit rushed in the third act, there’s no denying true fans of the franchise will have a blast with Ryan’s most adrenaline-packed mission yet.
