Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville’s recent comments about her two sons raised eyebrows. And anxiety levels. Reality TV fans are used to Brandi sharing about everything, and anything, in her life.
However, I didn’t have Brandi opening up about her past cocaine use on my bingo card. Then, she seemingly knocked her two kids with her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, for not trying the drug. While her words may have shocked fans, it was very on-brand for the RHOBH alum. And not exactly what it appeared at first blush.
Here’s what went down.
Brandi Glanville does want her children to “party a little more”
Before Brandi famously squabbled with Lisa Vanderpump and Denise Richards on RHOBH, we were all invested in her feud with LeAnn Rimes. It seems Brandi wasn’t thrilled that LeAnn had an affair with her husband, Eddie.
After they split from their respective spouses, LeAnn and Eddie tied the knot. Cue years of feuding, shared family holidays, and shady social media comments. And recently, Brandi shared her health woes, including the discovery of a benign facial tumor.
For Brandi, being a mama bear seemed to be her favorite role. And she had no problem inserting herself in her sons’ romantic lives. Yikes!
During her podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, Brandi chatted with her co-host, James Maas, about cocaine. “Well, I mean, let’s be clear, we’ve all done cocaine in the ’90s,” she stated. “I haven’t since fentanyl came out.”
In response, James quipped, “Now she has drug testing strips to make sure it’s good.” Brandi jokingly replied, “I got them for the kids.”
Meanwhile, Brandi seemingly doesn’t have to worry about her sons, Mason Cibrian and Jake Cibrian. “Luckily, my kids don’t do cocaine because they’re boring. But that’s okay. I love that they’re boring,” Brandi explained.
“They don’t even like to drink. I’m like, ‘What do you do? Where is your life?’” In this case, the apples may have fallen far from the maternal tree.
Most parents would be cheering, celebrating the fact that their children were embracing a sober lifestyle. Yet, Brandi did have one wish for her sons. “No, I mean, I just want them to party a little more,” she said, before clarifying, “not like cocaine.”
Not the best comments, sure. But certainly not worth an eternal pearl clutch, either.
