Days of Our Lives reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) found Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) in Kentucky. Lucky for Kristen, we have Sophia with an imperfect memory, but she does recall that Kristen owes her money. But because Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote) is in surgery, Kristen said, “Come to Salem if you want to get paid.”
We want to talk about whether she will force Sophia to do another dastardly thing to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), and let’s talk about what could be a very interesting frame job that could ruin EJ DiMera‘s (Dan Feuerriegel) life.
Days of Our Lives: Kristen Finds Sophia
Kristen recently found Sophia at a diner in Paducah using the name Amelia in a very bad Southern accent. And of course, Sophia was freaked out that Kristen found her. Sophia knows, and Kristen reminded her, that the cops would be looking for Sophia if they knew she was alive. Fortunately for Kristen, naughty little Sophia does not remember that Kristen bashed her in the head with a rock and had her tossed in the Salem River several months ago. Sophia just thinks that she tripped and hit her head, and that Kristen didn’t fish her out of the river. So, she’s upset, but doesn’t think it was a murder attempt.
And when Sophia was panicking, Kristen assured Sophia, “No, I’m not here to harm you.” So, Kristen was telling all kinds of lies. She claimed she was in a dark place when she hired Sophia to kill Johnny to get revenge against EJ. Because, as you know, Rachel was the one who shot EJ. Yet Kristen blamed EJ for it because he had hidden Rachel’s grandma, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle), away so she couldn’t testify that EJ and Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering) held Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) hostage in Aremid. And EJ actually blames Kristen’s bad influence as Rachel’s mom for why the kid shot him. EJ blames Kristen, not little Rachel.
Kristen’s Lies to Sophia on DOOL
But Kristen lied and said she wanted to find Sophia to apologize to her for everything. Truth be known, Kristen might have been looking for Sophia to either confirm her death, or to confirm what Sophia remembers, or to finish Sophia off. But there may be more to it. So, Kristen and Sophia were talking about how lucky Johnny was to survive the attack. And Kristen claims she’s happy that Sophia and Johnny both survived. But is Kristen really glad? I’m not so sure.
At this point, Sophia could spill the beans on Kristen and probably get herself an immunity deal. So, it’s actually sort of wild for her to bring Sophia back to Salem, because Sophia could go straight to the cops. They would love to put another DiMera behind bars. But maybe Kristen’s just not thinking clearly because of her panic once she found out that Rachel had appendix surgery. Or it could be that Kristen is working a new angle. Because as long as EJ is on the loose in Salem, there’s no way that Kristen is safe. EJ was planning to dump her on a remote DiMera island. And if Kristen pops back up, EJ might just have Kristen snatched again and follow through on that plan.
So, after finding Sophia, we saw Kristen confess that EJ figured out she was behind Johnny’s attempted murder. And Kristen said that’s why she ran away and left Rachel with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). And now Rachel’s recovering from an appendectomy, and Kristen is racing to see her kid. But Sophia wants Kristen to keep up her end of the bargain. And Sophia wants the money that Kristen still owes her. But she told Sophia, “There’s no time now. Come with me if you want the cash.”
Sophia Back in Salem on Days
And this week, we’ve got Kristen sneaking in to see Rachel, presumably up at Salem University Hospital. And of course, we know from this week’s Days of Our Lives promo that Sophia is in Salem Town Square when Johnny rushes by, and he nearly runs into his would-be killer Sophia. But Johnny is very focused on getting more evidence against EJ to help Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) with her lawsuit, because EJ set her up. So seeing Johnny may trigger something in Sophia.
And when Kristen realizes she can only sneak a moment with Rachel and then has to say goodbye because of EJ, we could see Kristen start plotting again. While she’s been on the run, EJ has been having his own run of bad luck. And once Kristen finds out her nephew Johnny gave a statement to the cops implicating EJ, we could see Kristen coming up with a whole new plan. And this could get EJ out of the way and clear the path for Kristen to come back to Salem so she can be there for her daughter Rachel.
Days of Our Lives: Kristen and Sophia’s Possible Frame Job
If you remember, Sophia didn’t want Johnny and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) to raise her biological son, Trey DiMera, especially because Chanel was pregnant with a bio baby of theirs. Sophia thought Trey might be sidelined, and Sophia even had her lawyer, Melinda Trask (Tina Huang), try and stop the adoption. But EJ shut that down. So, we could have Kristen cooking up a plan and telling Sophia, “Look, I’ll give you an even bigger payday if you help me take down EJ.”
And since Johnny’s giving statements against EJ to the cops, there is some concern there. Belle Black (Martha Madison) already said she’s worried EJ might do something to Johnny. And when Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) questions EJ, he initially thought it was DiMera Pharma head George O’Halloran (Michael Rose) who threw him under the bus. And EJ was stunned and hurt to find out it was his own son Johnny who ratted on him. He hates what EJ did. And Johnny’s trying to make things right as DiMera CEO. And as much as EJ loves Johnny, his actions could have serious ramifications for EJ.
So, I could see Kristen and Sophia working together in the shadows to harm Johnny and frame EJ in one fell swoop. Because if anything happens to Johnny, whether he’s killed or attacked and injured, the obvious suspect right now would be EJ. And that means Kristen could put Sophia up to helping her go after Johnny. And then Kristen could get revenge on EJ, and he would go to prison. So then Kristen could just waltz right back into Salem. And of course, Sophia wants revenge on EJ for torturing her in the adoption hearing.
Kristen’s Secret Visit with Rachel on DOOL
But if anybody spots Kristen in Salem, she might be busted. Brady and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) both believe that Kristen did put Sophia up to try and kill Johnny months ago. And Brady doesn’t want Kristen around Rachel anymore. Even the kid knows she’s better off without Kristen in her life. But while Rachel was in acute pain from appendicitis, she told Brady she wants her mom. So Kristen sneaks in to see her this week.
And we’ll wait and see if Rachel tattles to Brady that Kristen came by to see her, or if Rachel keeps the secret that Kristen came back to Salem. And if Rachel tells Kristen that she can’t have her in her life anymore, that could send Rachel’s mom into a tailspin. Kristen may think that Brady has poisoned Rachel against her, and that could have Kristen more determined to make EJ pay, because Kristen likes to blame everybody but herself for her problems.
I expect this all could ramp up by November sweeps, which kicks off October 29th. It could be a big part of the sweeps drama, because it seems highly unlikely that Days of Our Lives brought Sophia back just to get a big stack of cash from Kristen and leave Salem quietly. So Kristen and Sophia may target Johnny and frame EJ for it. And then, if it works, Kristen might really kill Sophia when it’s all done to tie off that loose end.
