Peacock has become one of my favorite streaming platforms, with its already phenomenal lineup of TV now being bolstered by big drops of classic films every month, with August being no exception. This includes some well-established franchises coming to the platform, including, for those who love steamy content, the Fifty Shades of Grey series, and The Matrix films for those craving some sci-fi action. On the TV front, Peacock is bringing some new series worth checking out, alongside adding all seasons of the Canadian classic Kim’s Convenience to its platform.
There is a fair amount to sort through this month, so I picked out some of my favorites getting added to the platform you won’t want to miss. After that, you will find a list of the major new and returning series and movies, followed by a complete rundown of everything coming to the platform in August 2026 and when each title lands.
MovieWeb Staff Picks for What’s New to Peacock in August 2026
- Escape Room (2019) – August 1: The Escape Room movies, both of which are being added to Peacock, are the perfect blend of thriller, horror, and mystery for an evening with some popcorn and friends or a partner. Here, six strangers are lured into an elite escape room competition with a cash prize, only to discover increasingly deadly chambers that are designed to kill them. The premise is that of a B-horror movie, but director Adam Robitel commits fully to it, delivering some mind-bending and entertaining escape rooms and genuine tension on a modest budget. Don’t expect a masterpiece, but both movies are a fun time for a casual watch.
- The Ballad of Wallis Island (2025) – August 6: One of the overlooked gems of last year, James Griffiths’ British comedy-drama follows an eccentric lottery winner who hires his favorite folk duo, former lovers with unfinished business, to play a private concert on his remote island. Tim Key and Tom Basden are wonderful together, with Carey Mulligan rounding out the trio, and the film balances genuine laughs with a melancholy streak that sneaks up on you. Charming without tripping over itself into overly sentimental territory, The Ballad of Wallis Island is an ideal addition to Peacock’s catalog.
- Copshop (2021) – August 10: Action fans, I have you covered this month. Joe Carnahan’s grimy, throwback siege thriller is an utter blast with a phenomenal cast. Here, you get Frank Grillo as a con man who gets himself deliberately arrested to hide from a hitman (Gerard Butler), only for the killer to follow him right into the same small-town police station. Copshop delivers a tense, blood-spattered standoff with a mean streak and flashes of dark humor. Alexis Louder also gives a standout performance as a rookie cop caught in the middle. If you love the griminess of 70s action, Copshop is a must-watch.
Major New Peacock Originals, Exclusives & Returning Series in August 2026
- Ms. X (season 1) – August 3: A suburban mom and her high school friend plot to frighten her unfaithful husband straight, but when he ends up dying, the duo are dragged into a world of law enforcement, drug lords, and ruthless PTA moms. The series stars Melissa George, Dean O’Gorman, and Simone Kessell.
- You, Me & Tuscany (2026) – August 7: Kat Coiro’s breezy romantic comedy makes its streaming debut as a Peacock exclusive. Here, Halle Bailey stars as Anna, an aspiring chef and house sitter who impersonates a man’s fiancée while crashing at his Italian villa, only for things to unravel when she falls for his cousin (Regé-Jean Page). Shot on location across Italy, this is the ideal slice of summer escapism.
- Kim’s Convenience (seasons 1–5) – August 10: The beloved Canadian sitcom follows the Kim family running a convenience store in Toronto. The show is acclaimed for its warm and sharp comedy, rooted in generational and cultural friction. All five seasons arrive at once.
- The Undeclared War (season 2) – August 27: The acclaimed British cyber-thriller returns, with the elite Malware Department at GCHQ reeling from the aftermath of a devastating Russian cyberattack. Simon Pegg, Siân Brooke, Hannah Khalique-Brown, Alex Jennings, Danny Sapani, Ed Stoppard, and Chloe Pirrie star. All episodes drop at once; binge away.
