Prime Video just revealed some major updates for Invincible Seasons 5 and 6. The show’s fourth season only ended back in April, but its future was already secure, having been renewed for a fifth season last year. That’s very much a good thing, given that Invincible Season 4 ended with a huge cliffhanger, though the series isn’t expected to return to Prime Video until sometime in 2027, meaning fans have a rather painful wait to find out what happens next.
Thankfully, though, there is a double dose of good news that will help make that a lot easier. At Prime Video’s Studio Focus Panel at Annecy Festival, the streamer announced that The Boys star Jack Quaid, who played Hughie Campbell in the live-action superhero series, will be joining the animated show’s voice cast as Chris, aka Gravitator, who can be seen in the image below. And in an even bigger announcement, creator Robert Kirkman confirmed the show has already been renewed for Season 6.
Invincible’s Future Is Looking Extremely Bright After Season 5 & 6 Updates

Quaid, who also voices Clark Kent in My Adventures With Superman, is an exciting addition to the show’s cast. The Boys and Invincible have some shared DNA as two adult-skewing Prime Video series that tell different kinds of superhero stories from the ones we’re used to with the MCU. Both are also executive-produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and Quaid becomes just the latest actor to appear in The Boys and Invincible, following the likes of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler, Conquest) and Shantel VanSanten (Becca Butcher, Anissa).
In the comics, Chris/Gravitator is an exceptionally intelligent and gifted engineer who builds an anti-gravity suit, which he uses for thievery. However, after an encounter with Invincible, he turns things around and begins working for the Global Defense Agency. In a clip show at Annecy, Gravitator was shown performing a bank heist, before being caught by Invincible [via Nexus Point News on X], so it seems to be closely following the comics there.
