It may have been just two months since Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but with many considering it to be one of the greatest games of 2026 so far, it is no wonder that the Traveller’s Tales action-adventure title is still in the spotlight.
Marking the fourth installment in the Lego Batman franchise, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight took heavy inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series, so it is perhaps no wonder that this newest iteration in the Lego Batman saga blew our minds when it launched back in May.
So much so, that our very own Austin King awarded Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight a perfect 10/10 in his review, calling it “The Arkham Successor We Need AND Deserve.”
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight may sometimes have a more serious tone befitting its subject matter, but it never loses its humor and heart. There’s always a sense of fun pulsing through the veins of this game, whether through sight gags or quippy dialogue. Maybe you’ll fight some bad guys in a ball pit. Maybe you and Catwoman have to rock out on electric guitars. Maybe the evil tension created by a villain is undermined by a one-liner from some random LEGO NPC. There’s always surprises in store, and there are plenty of jokes catered directly to longtime Batman fans.
Now, those who missed out on Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight back in May can now check it out courtesy of a PlayStation Plus offer which will allow you to try out the game for a limited time at no additional cost.
If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you will now be able to download the hit game courtesy of Sony’s Game Trials. Unlike demos, you will gain full access to the title, with the only catch being that you only have a limited amount of time to play as much as you can. On this occasion, you will gain access to 90 minutes of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which will give you ample opportunity to get a feel of the game, and may even inspire you to make a full purchase once the Game Trial has run out.
With Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight currently sitting at an 8.4 User Score on Metacritic, it is officially one of the highest rated games of the year, and so if you missed out on launch, now is the perfect time to rectify that mistake, at least for a short time.
