Although sci-fi masterpieces such as Severanceand Silomight make the headlines, there is no more important series on Apple TV than Ted Lasso, which helped establish the streamer as a major player. Without Ted Lasso, Apple TV as we know it might not exist today, and it’s with that in mind that an upcoming fourth season after three years away is particularly exciting, with the series set to return on August 5 and run through October 7.
But what will happen in Ted Lasso Season 4? Well, we know that Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) will coach the men’s team, hoping to return them to glory. But the big twist of Season 4, following his departure at the end of the third season to spend more time with his son in Kansas, is the return of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) to AFC Richmond. However, he will instead take charge of the women’s team alongside his trusted sidekick Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt).
One constant in the AFC Richmond hierarchy is Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham‘s Rebecca Welton, who will also return for Season 4. In a recent interview, Waddingham teased what fans can expect from the new season, as well as the upcoming journey for the women’s team. “Oh, it’s going to be… the writing just continues to excel like it always has, and we have our Lady Greyhounds,” she said, adding, “So, it’s going to be a wonderful season.” A synopsis for Season 4 reads:
“In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

Another Hannah Waddingham Series Debuts Before ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4
Before the return of everyone’s favorite soccer club owner, Rebecca Welton, next month, Waddingham is starring in a must-watch new series on a different streaming platform. On July 15, Waddingham will star opposite The Help Oscar winner Octavia Spencer and the ever-brilliant Bill Nighy in Ride or Die, an action-adventure series marking the first major production for creator and executive producer Tessa Coates. The cast also includes Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, and Sylvia Hoeks.
