Netflix is tripling down on the future of the hit thriller series The Hunting Wives. Ahead of the show’s return for Season 2, it’s already been confirmed that a third season will follow.
It has officially been announced by Netflix that The Hunting Wives has been renewed for Season 3. The third season will consist of eight episodes. No details have been revealed about the story or which characters will be featured, likely to avoid any potential spoilers about who might not survive the second season. It’s not yet known when the third season will be released, but Season 2 of The Hunting Wives will debut on Netflix on Nov. 26.
“I’m so excited, the girls are so excited, we just love making this show,” series creator and showrunner Rebecca Cutter said about the renewal. “I’m super proud of how the scripts for Season 3 are coming out. I’m so stoked to be heading back to Maple Brook, and I promise that once you’ve finished Season 2, you’ll be desperate to see what happens next. Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted.”
The Hunting Wives Season 2 brings back Brittany Snow as Sophie alongside Malin Akerman as Margo. The pair are “on the outs” heading into the new season, per the logline, but “soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
“In Season 1, Sophie is really having a lot of caged anger,” Snow added about what’s next for her character in Season 2. “You see the unraveling of a woman who was very caged for a couple of years of her life, tried to be the perfect mother, perfect wife, and was not being true to herself.”
Newcomers to the cast for Season 2 include John Stamos (Full House), Kim Matula (Saturday Night), Alex Fizalan (The Wilds), Cam Gigandet (Violent Night), and Dale Dickey (Widow’s Bay).
